What's your opinion of girls who are also delinquent boys?
As long as she can Rockona my Cocona, I'm all for it.
Speaking of, /a/ sings, get in here:
Fuck the police!
Studio Pablo posted a blog.
For pic related they used the same "Harmony" technique as in Kill la Kill.
also apparently episodes 8, 10-13 will have a different background studio
Is this a real place in jp? Did't mentioned here: http://imgur.com/a/NvGqV#QPcKh8v
Some really fantastic art so far. A bit disheartening that Pablo won't be involved with the mentioned episodes, though.
It seems like there will be a major style change towards the end. Something like reality itself being PI and they end up in OP-style "real world". Twintails loli is probably involved. And they used this opportunity to save budget.
>You'll never get this ending >>149928992
>By the end of the show they'll be having showers together and casually chatting in the tub about school and shit. It will be very cute and will definitely happen ;_;
It could mean that they want to crank the Sakuga up a notch. As nice as Pablo BGs are, they don't lend themselves well to crazy webgen camera movements like you see in the OP.
I really really want a happy ever after end for Cocona and Papika. I just want the show to end like pic related, with the two enjoying each others' company, preferably with Over the Rainbow playing as a final ED.
back in the day japanese delinquents use to get high with paint thinner and it fucked up their teeth so they wore the mask to hide their mouth. nowadays they just wear it as a kind of dress code.
Aren't Pablo also responsible for the art direction on this show?
It'd be weird for them to not be doing backgrounds for the most important episodes.
Unless it just means they'll be focusing more directly on their other role.
The art direction has been altered. Pray I don't alter it any further.
All of them. I want an orgy with Cocona lost in the middle.
Papia is the most cute
AR where they actually do "something fun".
I can't get over how pretty long-haired Cocona is.
I can't get over how fluffy Cocona's hair is.
She can dress them up with hearts but Imouto is still pretty cruel.
The idea is that one is forced to eat too much, while the other is deprived of food.
It's psychological torture because the act of overeating while a friend starves is emotionally distressing. It's also physical torture because overeating is excruciatingly painful once you pass a certain threshold. It was a legitimate torture technique back in the day.
Huh, you're right. Usually it says Studio Pablo, but in that episode Inspired is credited. However the backgrounds in ep.3 are clearly Pablo's work.
But then, I remember that FliFla twitter apologized at some point for incorrect credits. So I think the credit is a mistake, and Inspired should've been credited on some other episode.
am i the only one or had this place a very strong atmosphere to it?
We only saw it in the OP before so it seemed pretty important but i had a weird feeling about it... can't really describe it
Check the samples, niggeros.
Wow i think you understood me pretty well even though my post was a mess.
I really like place in Anime like Terminal Dogma, this tank in akira or even this thing in elfenlied that kept the loli in it, just those super secret underground facilitys with mostly disturbing stuff in it.
This scene in FLFL was a bit different though, because it already kinda felt like this, but without showing lilith or anythign fancy...
It has the same impact, but with a totally different atmosphere. Where they're things that represent an external danger, something that can kill you if given a chance, this thing represents a more existential danger. It's so peaceful and sublime, but that's just shows its danger-- it slips right past your defenses and affects you on a very deep, emotional level.
I think this is where Mimi died or at least where the Mimi's death took effect through PI mechanics.
We see clover flowers everywhere and the strange landscape and sculptures. This is almost certainly not natural, and one possible explanation is that this place is a total creation, or say overflow of certain previous PI events.
Immediately we've been shown an environmentally significant event of Mimi's death(?). Meanwhile the language of clover is "think of me", "happiness", "bond", and "revenge", which looks quite feasible as Mimi's wish that manifests as a sea of clover flowers that never fade. Nobody else as shown so far should have the power of creating such landscape.
I almost think those structures could be the remains of buildings that were influenced by PI... like a nuke that turns the landscape into a bucolic dream instead of a vitreous smoking crater.
Not sure what Yayaka is, but Papika is based on *papillion*, french for butterfly, and Cocona is based on *cocoon*.
Also Dr. Salto's name is based on a gymnastics term for a mid-air flip.
And come to think of it, a papillon is a breed of dog.
I can kind of see the resemblance.
>Papika wearing an Navy Admiral's cap
>Cocona wearing a helicopter pilot helmet
Over-analyze this, flappers.
Does the setting, the title of the show, or any part of the plot thematically link to spices or food at all?
It links to Salto flipping the order of the world, Cocona and Papika, our flapping butterflies, insect motifs on both the flappers AND Yayaka (her butt straps are the tails of a swallowtail butterfly) and all of them emerging from the cocoon of childhood into adolescence.
Yayakat's straps are the tails of a Bakaneko.
Yayaka does have a lot of cat traits, and there could easily be some bakeneko symbolism as well, but--
>Black barbed tails
I guess you could also make a connection with her liking sweets and butterflies drinking nectar but that's a bit of a stretch. Maybe if she drank soda constantly or something it'd fit.
Papika has a navy hat because the navy uses ships. She was searching for Cocona who is now in the submarine, which in naval terms is referred to as a boat instead of a ship.
So, Papika "found the little man in the boat" an old slang term for the clitoris.
I still stand by my Ophelia interpretation
the river looks to be smiling menacingly
It's a big Papika mouth
High sexual tension.
But seriously, this scene might be pretty straight fanservice but after episode 2 i'm convinced that they actually picked up sexuality as a motive instead of just having it there so people can look at it. I'm still not sure where they are going with it but it's at least the right way to go
Chaos in a good way.
Robot Battle in School Swimsuits.
Impression that Papika, Cocona, Yayaka could possibly join forces?
Like a circus.
New character (blue hair twintails) from the OP introduced.
Yayaka potentially useless to KKK now.
Yayaka vs Papika. Possibly Yayaka vs Cocona also.
I wasn't intending to present the speculations of what the episodes could contain based on the previews as fact or anything by the way. You can obviously quite easily be mislead by previews or think something that is nothing is actually important.
Although some of the more simple factual things there I am sure some people would rather not know and have be a surprise.
Cocona fell in love with a dork, only to realize that dork has loved her since the beginning.
She looks like a cat here
I don't actually. I want something like this:
More and for the three of them to be happy in the end. I just feel like we're gonna see YYK turncoat on the KKK and then die.
Yayaka is just a child who pee's herself
Pixiv is a ghost town but there seems to be a surprising amount of twitter art for FLFL.
What's with 3hz and dead mother of the main character sitting on a chair in OP sequence?
If anyone exists in a mirror, it's Cocona.
Note the scene right before this in OP. The one stepping on the water is Mimi.
Also, Papika and Cocona are often depicted underwater, or laying in water in official art.
The amount of Flip Flappers fanart is ridiculously low.
The mirror concept doesn't imply a notion of being underwater as if being underwater is worse than not. Even considering the case of water, the same rippling can be observed from underwater.
Mirror itself is but an interface between two different media, which is already a perfect explanation of real vs PI worlds.
The only problem though is that why do Cocona and her mother seem to be mirror images of each other in OP.
Been lacking motivation and energy and inspiration.
Any ideas senpai?
How would I go about putting myself into a coma until Thursday? Head trauma? Drugs?
That's the evil succubus Papika trying to convince Cocona she wants to do lewd things instead of leave and find regular Papika.
Yayaka killed her right after and took the shard of that world.
It's a hit. Over 30k sales almost guarantied, most likely more, and it's the show with the most fanart and trends on Twitter this season, I think last episode had over 80k tweets. The direction and editing of the show is very similar to live dramas, so they're not only jewing fujos but jdrama fans as well. It may even blow UtaPri the fuck out.
>2.5 million fanarts
It sure does.
Why do they need ass huge loudspeakers?
Also Bu-chan is super cute
Yayaka doing Cocona on the bed in episode 5, while Papika is thrown off the bed and asleep.
>office is an anechoic chamber
For what purpose, I wonder?
Yeah people have been speculating that for a while now. The way yayaka/twintails are sat in this picture gives the impression that Yayaka isn't part of their group and blue twintails is the leader.
All of the Pure Illusion and transformation stuff uses the language of audio. Lowering impedance, wavelength etc the basic purpose is obviously related to the research being done and the way Pure Illusion functions in some way relating to audio or at least adopting its terminology.
It isn't about proximity as such. The way the twintails girl is holding toto is almost like she feels like she owns him and the way Yayaka is sat just talking to Cocona seems like she doesn't care at all.
I was thinking if Pure Illusion exists everywhere why have these two organizations setup in exactly the same small Japanese town/city.
Then it occurred to me, as that site that Papika remembered Mimi at was in the real world and that area seems to be potentially significant in the creating of the fragments maybe that is some kind of reason why.
It's not sure that this area wasn't another PI i think though...
But now that we know that Mimi was a person we can asume that it's either because the organisations have to be close to where she lived, or that the organisations are just the only ones who know about Mimi.
>The amount of effort spent on drawing tubes
I think it was real world the way buu-chan made all the black liquid effect when they dropped into the region. That usually only happens when he moves them between PI and reality or vice versa.
The biggest QUALITY part was this. I think they're way too small in this shot considering the height of the railings.
That seems intentional. He was talking big, and was shown big. But then the girls started overbearing him and he shrunk.
Holy shit dude, if you think that honestly counts as QUALITY then you need to watch more anime.
Is this bait?
Yep. The budget strain was really showing for that section. Like failing to show Papika being heavy and the way Papika's stone teleports in to her hand.
Hope they're just saving for later.
You don't have a single what QUALITY is.
This season's biggest QUALITY show.
Is this code?
I'm bringing out my best one and only my best one for you guys.
I don't think it counts since I choose an easy target.
" Mom? Dad? Are we rotoscoped?"
I dunno, it looks wrong to me. The only other episode I could find where somebody climbs those stairs is episode 5 and here the proportions look much better.
>yfw it goes live action at the end
It's more like the whole episode is about missing number 12. The number 12 on the clock is covered in black mist, the stair step #12 is black mist, door #12 is hidden.
I don't think anything will ever top this for me.
What is happening to Yayaka here?
This is a stick-up.
Run the jewels or we be bustin a cap up yo ass, nigguh
At least that's very animated, the best QUALITY is when shows hold on an off-model still for seconds.
pic very related.
But they're right after all. Why would they animate well when this shit will make 30K sales? You just need gay boys and fan service.
I'm getting nervous the more it looks like Cocona is from PI or something.
The eye color is clearly different, only similar. Cocona's are brown while the others have red eyes. If anything, this makes blue hair another likely amorphous kid.
Shit, I've misplaced all my WUG gifs.
I guess a cap will have to suffice.
Not really quality just a typical low detail drawing that you always get when things are at a distance looks fine in it show. The bit where they first fell into that setting wasn't great though even if it was at a distance. You couldn't tell Papika was supposed to be on top of Cocona if it wasn't for the lines the characters said.
It makes sense that she would be seeing as she is almost certainly a replacement for Yayaka and the main reason they called her useless was that she wasn't an amorphous child like the other two.
Not really QUALITY, but it did have a few reused cuts.
Stop making up narratives. The show is just way behind schedule, only finishing its third episode for pre-screening time. Animating a constantly moving sport is very difficult. Lots of the staff are consecutively pulling off all-nighters
That has been reused through out the show obviously for effect telling us something about Cocona as a character and adds to the eeriness of her often ending up in her bed with no idea how she got there, makes it feel like the whole thing could have just been a dream almost as she gets up and does her normal routine.
Here it is but the resolution's kinda too small to properly see how bad it is.
Sure, they're trying. It still looks like shit right now though, and if they pick that sport and then have to stop making it look acceptable after three episodes that's just incredibly bad planning.
Salt probably doesn't know Cocona is his daughter. We saw Mimi get sucked into another dimension alongside her daughter. Mimi isn't out of it yet, so Salt doesn't have a reason to believe his daughter is, either.
I wrote a song for Yayaka.
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are for ransom, I can tell you I don't get paid . But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me build a spaceship out of random garbage. If you stop getting lewd art with my Cocona, that'll be the end of it. I will not smell for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will smell for you, I will find you, and I will kiss you.
Claiming custody soon. I left a couple of years and she's a lesbian.
>Mimi spawned some reincarnations while creating PI
>They are all over the place and can be easily found because they look like her
>Salt is very distant because he knows Cocona is a fake Mimi
>Papika is just really happy to have her back
>Those reincarnations are needed to go into PI and collect the shards to get the real Mimi back
>That girl from episode 1 died, so they had to look for another one
Maybe Salto is like Snape. Had a crush on Mimi but got cucked. Thus Mimi gave him her most precious item, nail clippers, as a consolation prize. Of course that would mean Cocona's actual father is either dead or Papika.
I got the impression that Salt knows her.
At the end hazama undressed in front of some middle school kid, talked about loving him and screamed at goto that he would be his girlfriend.
How much gay do you want you maniac?
Maybe she's actually
Papikanaand Mimi's daughter.
NTR'dwhich is why he's so salty.
That's not how you say "best girl"
>quoting spoilers without spoiler tags
So if I were to try to writefag some Cocona/Yayaka
or Papika/Yayaka or Papika/Cocona/Yayaka
What would people like to see out of that?
>both have reluctant MCs
>both have a friend of the MC who is really excited about adventuring
>both have a blonde character that had been going on adventures for a long time
>in both shows the blue-haired girl is best girl
have the same producer
WHAT IT MEANS
>lesbian literally has devil horns
progressive as fuck
>organization that works in the shadows bothers to make a logo
The master's as dumb as the dog.
I think your sarcasm detector is broken.
