I don't know. The facts they never been brought up when he was talking about being homesick for St. Petersburg and that we get no clues about his family are pretty strongly supporting the specula that Victor's an orphan. I do believe that a level of selfishness is needed to be the best, but it's pretty obvious the downfalls of becoming famous and rich so early in age affected his ability to connect to others at a personal level. Victor obviously lives for his fans and their affection because that is probably what he yearns for but he is also realizing that it's a double edged sword in that it ultimately doesn't cure his loneliness. If Stay By My Side song where that pretty violent stanza where the singer wants to cut the throats of the ones singing love and shit may reflect his exhaustion of suprising others and feeling of only being seen as Victor, the living legend. I mean, look in the series and see how the characters interact with him, only Yakov and recently Yuuri sees Victor as Victor and not his accomplishments. Even Fairy tend to see Victor for his talents, mostly he is probably falling into the same traps as Victor.

I also like the specula that Victor knew of Yuuri before their first meeting. I don't think Victor just didn't see Yuuri as a fan. Yuuri is not a nobody even if his reputation is shit. It could explain the pensive face when Yuuri walked away.

This is not true. The fact there has been building for Rostelecom and the show made a concious choice to switch the order of the Grand Prix events (in 3DPD, Rostelecom Cup comes before the Cup of China). So Fairy and Russia are going to play big roles for Yuuri and Victor.

What are the odds of this show going angst towards the end? The tone of the show hasn't been angsty at all up to this point or even really hinted at it, but now that a kiss has already happened in episode 7 I'm afraid of it ending negatively in some way.
