That only really applies for just Rose, Dezel, and Alisha. Mikleo is related to the plot with the main villain and is also the only one who really seems to Sorey sane, Lailah is the prime lord and whose mistakes caused the story, Edna and Zaveid help with world building and are effectively our Regal and Presea. Their real problem is that the character development because the story refuses to let Sorey succeed in anything.

Rose is unnecessary as a character as is Dezel, and Alisha was only really good for being a catalyst to the story but is at best a side character since she's only really connected to the story via a side plot.

The game also had a similar scene of Alisha almost getting killed by a hellion and Sorey killing it in anger, and Sorey's separation with Alisha also happened in a similar manner. The scene in the game also could have been mistaken for romantic, at least until the idea of it was killed by Sorey himself.

It's something of note that all the "heterobait" in the game, manga, novel and now anime comes purely from Alisha's perspective, with Sorey's perspective when it's entered kills the romance.

On the other hand you have Sorey and Mikleo where the "queer baiting" is coming from both character's perspectives, in this case what stops it from being too gay is the fact that they don't go into their perspectives very often. And that's when you don't take into consideration the fact that the script writers shot down the idea of Sorey and Alisha but did not do so with Sorey and Mikleo.

I think Anime Sorey in general actually prioritize Alisha alot more than his game's counterpart. Additionally, Anime Sorey is more played out as a harem MC as he has 'moments' with all the girls throughout first cour too. Even Mikleo feels second to Alisha as of the end of first cour.

I think the difference is both versions of Sorey share baity scenes with Alisha, the game does alot more to dismantle the atmosphere while the anime leaves it to official charts and knowledge of the game to discern that it's definitely not going anywhere regardless.

Not really, anime Alisha just outright gives Sorey a reason to worry, by being more obviously depressed, something that game Alisha wasn't. Game Sorey started caring less about her the more he learned about the world and the critical he became of her and it didn't help that she was also causing him a lot of trouble and Sorey now met and connected with more humans and so didn't need rely on her.

But that's because again dampening Sorey's thoughts and perspective, Sorey doesn't feel like a main character in his own story he's in the same boat as the others, since in order to push Alisha everyone else including Sorey had to take a back seat.

Eleanor crying for Rokurou wasn't for Rokurou specifically, she would have cried for any of them if they had killed their family. Rokurou cheering her up and promising to treat her to anmitsu seemed like a natural follow up to stop her crying, but I can understand how it can be seen as romantic. I can yield that maybe Eleanor's line in the pre-final battle skit that she would be there to stop him if he went full gouma kinda ships them as well.
I'd say these skits were more to illustrate that Eleanor is emotional and human and contrasted it against Rokurou's stoicism and they do this in a lot of skits.

That's inaccurate though? It's a minority but it has a fair amount of art and doujins and by in large Alishafags outnumber Rosefags in nipland, so Alisha ships are more popular than Rose ships.

It's still a minority though and Ufotable knows that it won't sell a lick compared to Sorey/Mikleo, so they haven't gotten promo art together since early game promotion.

Who cares about Rose and Alisha.

Hell considering the amount of complaints the last episode got, I don't even have any expectations for Alisha to show up in the next cour (only AlishafagsI were happy about her hogging screentime). The current setup makes it so that Sorey and Alisha never have to see each other again, because Sorey no longer has a reason to return to Ladylake.
