How edgy is too edgy?

You can never have enough edge.
>>149885736
When characters start smiling like this is an insta drop
>>149885736
Anything that involves any sort of serious competition or malice at all

Same reason why I can't stand anything from Kouta Hirano. He always gives his characters these stupid edgy smiles like "Oooooh look at me, I'm fucking unhinged and toootally crAaAaAaAazy!"

>drooling and firing lasers
That poor Doublas must be starving.

You guys are literally just describing any anime that involves drama.
>>149886117
What the fuck, since when does every anime that involves drama also involve slasher smiles? Do you not know what "drama" is? I don't remember anyone smiling like that in Clannad.
>>149886117
??????????
>>149886191
I don't either because I dropped it after marathoning the first 10 minutes. Everyone was too mean to the blonde guy and the violent girl was actually pretty edgy.
>>149886250
Okay, but that has nothing to do with the discussion. The vast majority of drama-oriented anime don't involve smiles like that.

To answer your question, the only people who don't think Death Note isn't the best anime ever made are the sheeple who live on their hands and knees, begging politicians and educators to think for them.
They are not like you and me, OP, those who know that everything in this corrupt world must be destroyed in order to create a better one.

It does if we include implied edgy smiles.
>>149886053
I don't mind it in Kouta Hirano cases because he obviously does it in a goofy way but I hate it in cases like in Umineko, Higurashi or most recently 91 Days because we are supossed to take it seriously.

>implied edgy smiles
I have literally no idea what this means.

Sometimes, even if a character doesn't make any significant facial expressions, you know that they're thinking something really edgy in their head. You can just tell sometimes, it's implied.
