THROUGH THE GLASS TWENTY STORIES HIGH I HAVE WATCHED THIS CITY BURN
This makes me feel excited and uncomfortable.
Why were they suddenly in lingerie?
Tell me now. Is there a man among you here?
Is there no one who will stand up and try to fight?
Tell me man, is there not one in all your ranks? Is there no one who values courage over life?
Never. It's better this way.
To make you take longer to process what was happening in this scene.
The real thread is the one that gets attention, the other will only survive as long as there's a necrobumped around but it might become the real thread after the previous real thread dies.
Was this supposed to be a reference to Artificial Academy 2?
I had to pause for a moment when this scene came up because I actually thought the Papika here was CGI, but upon closer look it just seems like she was coloured uniformly in a way that resembles CGI. I can't help but feel like it was deliberate
>show is popular and generates lots of material for discussion
>obviously, discussion extends across multiple threads when a new episode of it comes out
>FUCK GENERALS GET OUT OF /a/
Why are anti-generalfags so dumb?
So can we agree that this episode was actually Cocona's PI world, and that the reason people thought it was boring is because they're too stupid to appreciate a character analysis episode?
It's kind of hilarious how /a/ has become pretty much a parody of itself. Modern /a/ is just trying to imitate the elitism /a/ used to have but without really understanding the reasoning behind it, just mindlessly labeling everything as cancer/shitpost/bait/etc.
Why did Papika and Cocona end up in the real world instead of back in the Thomasson like they usually do? That doesn't make sense.
Also if it's not the real world but still the PI, why is Salt there?
I thought it was pretty obvious what they were trying to say
It was supposed to be a sort of hell, and that papika was a sort of devil. Can't say why it was seducing her, but if I had to guess, its probably getting her to willingly submit to an eternity of hot Yuri sex, or some shit.
Neo/a/ is finally not a meme anymore huh.
There's no need to have THREE threads up at the same time. Keep the discussion going, sure, multiple threads up, no.
Chaining threads at the time, not giving up when there's nothing to discuss anymore is what a general is.
Every PI has been Cocona's PI, anon.
Do you think the barren, isolated world of sweet snow that was trapped in a deathly, absolute stillness until a sudden explosion of movement "broke the ice" wasn't Cocona's world?
Papika is an insecure, protective, and childish person. She really hates it when things doesn't go her way. On the other hand, she also unconsciously desires a lot of things from Papika. That issue made her mentally unstable, while also affected the impedance/synch level she has with Papika. Pure Illusion took advantage of it like in episode 3. She's the one who's lost in fantasy, not Papika. However, it's unknown what Papika was doing in the meantime. She's probably trying to find a way to save Papika, and figured it by bringing out the pipehouse (memories, just like how they solved Iro-senpai with nail polish).
>Every PI has been Cocona's PI, anon.
>there was clearly an Iroha PI
>english word play justifying your shitty theory
This is the only one that can actually be called Cocona's PI. It was a completely empty version of the real world filled with nothing but Papika.
The idea is trying to keep up one thread and only making a new one once it reaches the bottom of the board, but for popular shows it never ends up happening because someone always ends up making a new thread before the time. Since nothing can really be done about that, then the most popular thread usually survives unless the other one gets necrobumped for a while.
And you're right, everyone should just immediately stop discussing things as soon as threads about them reach 500 posts. It doesn't matter if they're airing shows or if they're popular.
The ugly, flat-coloured style that resembles MMD-tier CGI makes it look like it's referencing a CGI porn game in particular. It's not the pose, it's the style that the pose is used in. Of the recent "make-your-own" character CGI porn games, AA2 is the most popular that I'm aware of.
Stop complaining, there's literally no point in trying to control the flow of content on such a big board, or any board for that matter, you're wasting your time.
Post on the threads you like and shut the fuck up.
>"break the ice" guy
you've literally been shilling this stupid idea since episode fucking 3. japanese people are not aware of dumb americunt dance club one-liners, let alone use them as plot foreshadowing in their silly lesbian adventure show
>being tempted by a devil in your friend's guise
Cocona did the right thing
It's also a problem indeed, and many other threads should be removed. Generals in general should fuck off.
What if people were not dumb and stopped making threads too early? It's been like that since forever and now this generation of posters just accept this shit and the board is sinking. What the fuck is wrong with you kids.
You could see her changing slowly in the loop episode.
Man, you must have missed the Danganronpa threads last season.
>people constantly making new threads after reaching bumping limit on page 4 or earlier
The best you can do is call them out and hope they'll try to behave better next time. Fanbases of popular shows tend to be completely chaotic.
PI is a a reality substrate backdoor into people's minds, but influences the minds of those who enter it as well.
Cocona just realized this fact and is now somewhat uncomfortable with this fact
The KKK's base was in the mountains all along, and Papika was escaping from it in episode 1 for some reason. Buu was also there, for some reason.
Mimi is a person. Salt has some relationship to Mimi and to Papika, though Papika evidently doesn't remember. The shards are deeply related to Mimi, but it's not clear how or why.
The KKK almost has all the shards they need to instigate their plan, so the breakdown is imminent. We also leanred this episode that Yayaka is with the KKK of her own accords, to the point where them threatening to fire her is enough to compel her obedience. She's clearly not being forced, blackmailed or threatened to do their bidding. The twins are also special, and very likely instrumental to the KKK's ability to find and enter PI.
>this generation of posters
Such an oldfag, whoa.
You probably haven't been browsing long enough and seen enough boards die to realize that whiny control freaks, mod-wannabes like you, are the reason boards sink. You're the kind of oblivious faggot that ruins communities while innocently blaming it on someone else, your arbitrary "cancer", some enemy you made up in your head.
Stop complaining and contribute something. Be an example.
>Stop complaining and contribute something. Be an example.
Well, I'm not the one making early threads.
Clearly there was a mindset change, if everyone seems to think this posting behaviour is ok.
This show is terrible.
7 fucking episodes and Flip Flappers is STILL nothing but a string of incomprehensible nonsense.
So who is the kid she's holding?
>inb4 baby Cocona
>you will never have rowdy delinquent sex in an alley with cocona
but that's forbidden
>you will never have sex with sukumizu Cocona in the dressing room either
it's even got the claws of the witch on the right side
Salt said something about uniting all the Pure Illusions.
What if every Pure Illusion is another universe?
What if dreams/thoughts can create new Pure Illusions?
That's why Sukebans are best.
Literally who is the target audience for this show?
Interesting, I didn't even notice that. Cocona gains long hair when she puts on the Sukeban uniform, and loses it when she takes it off. Maybe the PI is exerting its influence again?
On that note, all the different Papikas also have different colors of the same school uniform (when they're not wearing male ones).
But her soul choose to go back in time, the the time when she was happiest, and she will be at pure illusion with her family.
Yayaka who loves Cocona want to be with her too and want to be in a time when Cocona'd love her, but since she already loves Papika she'll go back in time before Cocona is born, and became her mother.
Is there a practical function behind the vaginal sticker? I see it a lot in doujins, to the point where I can't tell if it's fetishizing some real-life feminine hygiene product or just a product of fiction
>Flifla doujins when?
With these sales? Pfft, no.
what did she mean by this?
stupid robot is in the way
>I'm becoming retarded!
Current Papika is the result of a drug-addled JC enko suffering a major stroke during violent group sex and receiving permanent brain damage.
Please be sure to ahegao responsibly. Stick to one peace sign until you're ready to handle two.
We've had 2 soul searching episodes in a row so next week is going to hit hard and fast with phallic imagery and fanservice galore. Some plot too maybe
>pink and white stripes
Innocent and, while she;s got some vague awareness of her sexuality, she still hasn't yet become aware of the possibility of being the subject of someone else's sexual interest. In between childhood and pubescence, she still treats her undergarments as a source of comfort and security, like a baby with their blanket.
We've gotten plenty of that already
Yayaka defecating to Cocona's side would probably mean death. At first I thought she'd be a whiny bitch but she's grown on me. I really hope she survives and goes on adventures with papicoco.
Posted this in the other thread but wanted to post this here to see why you guys think of this:
Basically white clover means "Think of Me" in flower language. The meaning makes a lot of sense given the context of this episode with Mimi and Salt+co. as well as Cocona and Papika.
It's not just about budget, it's about scheduling. Considering the show is already finished we don't have to worry about them rushing to meet air date deadlines so there's no real worry about sudden QUALITY
>there are people who actually think Act II > Act I
>there are people who have only listened to Act II
This is a crime. How did yurifags react?
Oh you're the autistic one. Let me try to explain it.
In extremely emotional storytelling, the point is not really always clear. There usually isn't a single point that the collection of images, events, and characters are trying to get across. It's usually just an exposition of the often contradictory emotions a person experiences when going through that kind of thing. It gives others an idea of what it was like-- it sounds weird, but even though the story was sad, it's beautiful too. You feel a resonance with it, like even during your hardest times, other people have been there too-- you were never alone.
Did that make sense?
Now that we have some more context surrounding this field, maybe we can look at pic related differently.
Is it 2 people or just 2 different Salt's?
We've seen the other one this episode. Not sure what this means. In the OP one of them looks much younger.
Two can play this game, Yayaka!
It's Salto and Papika.
That white coat she's wearing is the big puffy thing on her shoulder here.
>Excuse me Cocona, but your dog did something very nasty in the classroom. Come with me, I think I have an extra pair of gloves that you will definitely need.
When you have a bunch of variations of a character who are all voiced by the same person so you use it as an opportunity to drop some symbolism and/or fuck with your audience.
Also the last frame is this which maybe explains what happened to her memories.
I want to say that man is Salt in different clothing. He has a shard that looks just like Salt's in episode 1. I'm drawing a blank on who the seemingly younger person might be. If it isn't a younger Salt then it could either be the man in the flashback or somebody we have yet to meet. The only males we knew about before the flashback today are Salt and Hidaka.
I'm not convinced that Papika was actually present when Mimi vanished/died/turned in fragments, especially after the memory shit from episode 6. We'll have to wait and see I suppose.
I saw an interesting post in a previous thread about the various Papikas and how they represented different aspects of Papika was perceived by Cocona, and I felt like building upon it a bit.
Imouto = A reflection of Papika's childish nature and how she follows Cocona around, calling her name at all times. She also reflects Papika's ability as a good cook.
Dude = Papika's independent nature, getting Cocona to skip class/making her do things she usually wouldn't. There's also a strong/manly appeal to this.
Drills = Papika's spoiled side, making Cocona express herself by doing activities without much care for the end result.
Weirdo = Papika's habit of doing unusual things. The side of Papika that Cocona finds a bit creepy.
Ahegao = Papika's lack of normal social skills.
Delinquent: Papika's brashness and recklessness.
Devil/temptress: Rather than being an aspect of Papika, I saw this as Cocona's own subconscious, the side of her that makes her question the nature of her feelings toward Papika, and perhaps a bit of carnal desire.
The motif in this episode was change in people. When people change, it doesn't necessarily mean they've changed entirely, but just that one or a few aspects of them have changed.
However, in this episode, Cocona rejected each aspect of Papika, in favour of the full package.
Now, sure, people aren't just one aspect, but an agglutination of many different aspects, which is what forms a personality.
The irony in all of this is that, even though Cocona doesn't like change, she still rejected all individual parts of Papika - i.e. all the parts that make up Papika as she knows her.
Building up on the previous episode, we can tell every aspect of a person is built upon experiences, for example, Irodori's idea of being unable of using nail polish, for some reason likely linked to the old lady, but when Cocona and Papika changed her memories(?), that aspect of her changed, making the whole package is different now, despite changing only 1 aspect.
>I wonder if I can call it a cage
Uh oh 2.0
FlipFlap HQ has some interesting stereo systems.
Maybe this is related to audio engineering terms from episode titles?
FlipFlap's anechoic chamber, also audio related
The family is Salt, Mimi, Cocona and baby Papika. Mimi was dragged by PI alongside Papika. Cocona doesn't remember or got fake memories, while Salt continued studying PI and capturing fragments do bring Mimi back. Grandmother knows everything. Papika grew up inside PI, and is actually younger than she appears. Salt got her back, but she doesn't remember much, after all she was a baby when it happened.
KKK discovered PI around the same time and is collecting fragments to create an ultra deep layer and influence reality with it.
PI is a parallel dimension of sorts, without known methods of easy interaction but it's doable with mental affinity. Cocona and Papika can wander there because of their relation to Mimi, which is part of PI for now. KKK twins were Mimi v2 but strong enough to come back. Yayaka is a coincidence.
How was the script for the ep 6 flashback tagged? It could still be "P" on the script because it's Papika's voice but in the actual world it turns to be a different character just like in ep 6
The fact it happened in the real world instead of DPI is pretty conclusive to me that it was her own memory. And it fits perfectly with the theme of this episode and the OP if Papika starts to regain her lost memories and becomes a different person, causing angst for Cocona.
>It's clear they're related by some weird circumstances with PI.
That's the one thing I don't want. Please, Director-san, don't make them related.
>happened in the real world instead of DPI is pretty conclusive to me that it was her own memory
>Papika starts to regain her lost memories and becomes a different person
Good points. It would certainly open up some interesting possibilities
>I want incest yuri doujins with imouto papika!
Don't worry they will come.
Did you know that you can actually live this episode IRL? Its pretty easy. All you have to do is take an entire bottle of Benedryl and then go for a walk outside. Good luck in Pure Illusion!
Watch out for spiders!
What's going to happen when they perfectly synchronize?
Flip Flap is basically Eva.
Cocona is obviously depressed and so is Iro, that's why they go to pure illusion, to escape their real lives. They're not really going somewhere, they're in a fuckin box when they go to pure illusion
Wrong, mate. Benedryl(DPH) is the drug that will take you to Pure Illusion. You will have conversations with people who are simply not there. You will see yourself in familiar environments that don't exist. There will be spiders a-plenty. If you're a true FliFla fan, what you do is go and take 30 benedryls right now and enter Pure Illusion. Make sure to go outside and walk as far away from your home as possible.
Crazy theory. What if Cocona and Papika are actually Mimi but separated into two different people. What if zero impedence as well as collecting the Shards of Mimi lead to singularity which is becoming whole aka Mimi.
Ten bucks they will synch against the twins.
I enjoy this show but I don't understand how people over-analyze literally everything.
Google translate may try to parse those syllables in ways that coincidentally could be interpreted as relevant, but I can confirm that when strung together they are just gibberish in Japanese, unfortunately.
They are just chilling during the lunch break. they are childhood friends and have the latent gays for each other before Papika joined. That's why Cocona has been so annoyed when she learned Yayaka has been hiding stuff from her.
There's almost definitely some significance behind it, likely the nurse is somehow relevant to the larger plot, but for now all we really know is that it's Yayaka's domain, on a surface level it appears that she feigns illness all the time to avoid class, but something else is going on on the deeper level. The fact that Papika hates the smell of both the art room and the nurse's office, and they are the respective domains of the two other characters from the school with some strong connection one way or the other to PI can't be coincidental.
We're getting more and more pices of the puzzle every week, but we don't have enough to know much for sure yet. Can't wait to rewatch the whole series. I guess it's about time this week or next for a rewatch of what we have so far to compare notes from airing day specula with what we've learned.since.
Yayaka hangs out there
Cocona goes there to hang out with Yayaka, because that's where Yayaka always is.
"I need to go to the nurse's office" is a common and cliched excuse to get out of class. People like Yayaka use it to get some extra sleep since they're out all night doing things teenagers shouldn't be doing. Schools can be lenient about it because as far as they're concerned, mental wellness is also part of public health and if it keeps the suicide rates down it's a godsend.
Flip Flappers is the thinking man's Phantom World.
Yup, I just realised that. Thought it was the same as Dude (i.e. class skipper), and added the strong image the Ikemen had.
Dude = Papika's independent nature, getting Cocona to skip class/making her do things she usually wouldn't.
Ikemen: Papika's cool side. There's strength/"manliness" and appeal to it.
That's what I meant.
I added strength because I didn't want to leave it as "manly", since Papika is a girl.
Basically, I was thinking of the cool "manly" appeal that comes with being good looking.
I added manliness since it refers to good looks from a man, not just good looks in general.
Nah... This one is Papika.
Mimi is probably a previous partner of hers.
Something I've noticed is that Mimi' name consists of two repeating syllables like Yuyu and Toto.
I suppose a possibility is that Mimi was Cocona's mum. Papika was somehow frozen in time, and that's why she was waiting for Cocona.
If Papika does turn out to be immortal then it certainly puts this line in a new light.
>see Protomen live
>crowd tries to sing along to Light Up The Night and shits the bed
Ikemen is a compound of イケてる (iketeru) and 面 (men).
Iketeru means charming/handsome/cool, whereas men means face. The "men" may also be there as men in English.
So, Ikemen literally means "charming face", thus a good looking guy.
At the end of episode 1, Cocona got captured by the KKK, but by the beginning of the next episode everything was back to normal. Why did they let her go? What did they do to her?
Sorry if this has been discussed to death earlier, just caught up with this show.
It's a count of the times a character's name is said by another character.
Nothing is confirmed but in episode 2 there is some focus put on her left bicep that would suggest it was tampered with. Popular theory is that they put a tracking chip in her arm so they would be notified when she enters PI.
I'd imagine it'd be something similar to a mass invasion/brainwashing of everyone's subconscious, considering they have a massive version of that thing that opened the gate in Iroha's PI and they seem to be gathering/making a robot army.
I can't tell if this is supposed to be Alpha 3 or 5 and it's fucking me up.
It's already been demonstrated that there is, at least regarding the Deep Pure Illusion in episode 6. When CCN and PPK go through the gate, the shard is falling. When they come out, after spending what seemed to be a sort of nebulous but significant amount of time living in Iroha's memories, the fragment hadn't even hit Yuyu's hand yet.
What could have felt like or at least represented months or even years in DPI was only a fraction of a second in PI.
Papika and Cocona hold the keys to open the door. When the two girls meet, their adventures in a different time and different overlapping dimension called "Pure Illusion" begin. Many things in Pure Illusion will stand in the girls' way on their search for the mysterious crystal called the "Shard of Mimi," an item that is said to grant any wish. However, when the girls find themselves in danger, the Shard of Mimi shines, and they are able to transform.
>Shards of Mimi
It's Karin VS Nash with the SFIV Vanilla HUD, so probably V.
I don't understand why Papika would take Cocona to the arcade and not play against her. If we're not counting Yayaka and the twins, there's no one else in that world. She's literally playing Versus CPU.
>Papika doesn't use the wine glass hold like pretty much every single other depiction of a japanese person in an arcade is
holy fuck. also it's definitely SFV judging by the cabinet next to it having the V.
OKAY FLIP FLAP
YOU CROSSED THE LINE THIS TIME
PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY YOU FELT THE NEED TO SHOW A MIDDLE SCHOOLER PUTTING HER PANTIES ON
GO AHEAD, I'LL WAIT
>everyone ignores cocona (yayaka excluded) and then she meets iroha senpai
>the two just periodically chill in the art room with shared interests
>then all of a sudden she dumps the art and is a fucking normie after magical memory therapy
>cocona doesn't like this, wants to "fix" what she's done
Is this her being upset by just change, or is perceived abandonment also a factor?
It's more like Cocona realizing they may have done something bad by possibly altering Senpai in the Pure Illusion. That consequence is what made Cocona suddenly hesitant to go back into PI.
Act 2 had some good songs but overall was a pretty shitty album. A lot of filler tracks and it took itself way too seriously.
>mfw female vocalist portions
Cocona was very concerned that her actions in DPI affected reality. When Iroha suddenly stops caring about art she thinks that she did a bad thing since art was her defining trait. Many people speculate though that she didn't really enjoy it in the first place and only used it to cope as a child, and with her childhood trauma addressed she no longer has a desire for art.
I feel like the conclusion to how Cocona feels about this is going to be based on whether she helped Iroha overcome her trauma about breaking her promise, changed her memories so that she thinks she didn't, or changed the past(unlikely).
Would you a genderbent shota Papika?
>Or rather, what's wrong with having two?
Because it's not 2008 anymore, you have to make generals now and keep them up a fucklong time.
/a/ and these threads are much too fast.
I thought these were Cocona's soft thighs for a second. I was a little disappointed.
>papika will never be your boyfriend
>clearly say -sama
>sub it as -san
>not NEO SAITAMA
