Hamtaro thread

Whatever happened to Hamtaro? He used to be one of the most recongizeable characters now he's barely in anything.
Ebichu > Hamtaro
>still have all the VHS
I'd rewatch them all if I had a player.

Died due to anorexia.
It'd be nice to see Hamtaro make a comeback, but at the same time, I can understand the one behind the creation not wanting to continue it (in order the franchise doesn't grow stale).
I'm not sure if the one behind these has any intent of making anything new, but in case that person (I think it's Ritsuko Kawaii) were to make the franchise come back, I think it'd be wiser to come up with a fresh new protagonist with a bunch of new friends while also making homage to the original Ham Ham Gang somehow and not entirely forgetting them.
I just got the Hamtaro game on Game Boy Color in the mail yesterday. I played Ham Ham Heartbreak on GBA a ton back in the day, but I never got around to the Color one. What am I in for?I've never watched the Hamtaro anime

I remember this too. It just vanished all of a sudden like 10 years ago

IIRC, I didn't know about the series either, I got that very same game too at first. I've only got to watch the legitimate show much much later in my language one, two years later. Between that period, I think I was already aware of HHK (a very big fan site back then) and had only joined the forums somewhere around my birthday in 2005.
Regardless of whether you've seen the series or not, it's a legitimately good game, produced by Nintendo, a light-hearted game with fun characters. Games after Heartbreak were made by AlphaDream, the ones behind the Mario & Luigi series. For a children's game, it's really quite entertaining and if you're like me, you'll find yourself replaying it often.

I only played my buddy's copy of Ham Ham Heartbreak, and I remember we couldn't find it a couple years later. I've been meaning to get a copy online for nostalgia's sake, but some of those copies run pretty expensive on ebay ($20 is the cheapest I see right now). once I figured out there was an earlier one, I got the GBC one for like $3.99 including shipping. I played it a bit last night, and I had a fun time.
