I've never watched Brotherhood. All I knew was that it was loyal adaptation to the mango and it is praised as the third coming of Christ by normalfags and entry level fans. This being said, why is the first episode filler? Not only that, why does it go and introduce so many characters as well knowing that it will undermine their future introductions?

>why is the first episode filler?
More importantly why does it spoil half of the twists of the story?

Bare for a few action sequences, the show is directed like horse shit by the way.

It's not filler, you just don't find out the connection til the end of the series.

This. Fuck, why would they do this?

It's filler in the sense that it never appears on the mango. It has events that eventually are mentioned, but far later.

It was really just to be a reintroduction start. Like "Hey look all these characters you like are back!" It does tie into the story later though so it's better than other attempts at this

why are episode 18-51 from 2003 version fillers?
>>
>>149765479
they reached the end of the manga at that point, so they made up their own story

Padding. Which they use when there's no more source material available.

Anon, please.

simple, the first 10-12 episodes were going to rehash the first 18 episodes of the original series. They wanted to open with a BANG to draw in the people who were fans of the original series and who might get bored waiting around for a season of retread episodes.

I can understand their train of thought, but putting so much shit in one episode is still a bad move, I believe. Besides, it aired 5 years after the other anime finished. That's plenty of time for a fresh rewatch.
