You're right, the service sector is an extremely big part of the American economy, but it's not all of it. Manufacturing will always have a place in America. The most obvious is manufacturing that can't be shipped overseas for legal reasons - defense work and stuff that uses ITAR-controlled technology. To do this work, we need highly qualified people (tards, as you call them), and these people need to stay employed even when we don't need any new fighter jets or rockets or nukes for a while. This is where commercial work comes into play. And, of course, once you've got all of this infrastructure, it makes more and more sense for businesses to set up shop in the same area.

I agree with you in that the boring, repetitive manufacturing jobs that produce nothing but cheap trinkets don't need to be here, but there's a lot of manufacturing work that belongs in the USA, because we have some people that can do that work better than anyone else in the world.
