>Missing the point of the manga this hard
HOW DO YOU FUCK UP THIS BAD
>Let's take iconic scenes but ignore the cinematogoraphy that made them great, wouldn't want to copy heh heh heh
IT ALL RETURNS TO NOTHING
Looking pretty decent
what's bothering you, /a/?
>Implying anyone cares about the manga
HOW DO YOU FUCK UP THIS BAD
The right for the franchise had to be taken away from the original creator in order for the series to turn good
Wew this movie will do well and the losers on /a/ will be butthurt about it as of their opinions matter.
Looks like decent kino. Will need to watch to confirm but the trailer was alright.
I think Hollywood should stick with "homages" and copies like Pacific Rim, Inception and Black Swan.
That way they can rip off everything and still enjoy the benefit of the doubt. It worked with Matrix and other anime-inspired films. No need for live-action remakes.
The whitewashing drama is funny. It would have been even more ridiculous if they had casted for example that chinese chick that complained on twitter about the movie not having an asian actress.
This actually looks dope as fuck. The teasers looked pretty bad, but this trailer does a way better job of showing the world.
I'm still hesitant about the story though since they're blatantly taking parts from the first movie and SAC because "it looks cool".
After all, "Special effects are just a tool, a means of telling a story...A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing" - George Lucas
I tried being positive about this one. I rewatched the film ln and I don't think they can capture the subtlety of it. The dialogue they showed off in this trailer was cringe and lacked subtely, I hope at best it will be fun popcorn material.
watch Ghost in the Shell stand alone complex seeason 1 and 2 and then the movie solid state society,
The 1995 movie is an alternate version you can watch that too, check MaL for more
>the whole comment section full of people being triggered and calling Major japanese
I suppose this trailer does the trick of kinda sorta setting the premise for people who haven't heard of Ghost in the Shell.
Here's hoping the next one just goes all out with 'Inner Space' accompanying it.
For a Hollywood adaption of GitS it really doesn't look that bad. Won't hold a candle to the original movie but we could have gotten far worse. Why are people flipping out over what looks like a pretty solidly average movie?
I feel this is not good.
What makes GITS great is its real but futuristic world.
The world seems to be connected with our world, just like near future.
But the world is completely different from now.
It's similar to before/after internet or smart phone.
New technologies(cyberbrains/cyborg) have changed the society to completely different one.
From this video clip, I can only see "superficial very futuristic(3Ds) world and some actions".
That is not capturing the heart of GITS.
GITS is all about alien but somehow inevitable future.
Honestly looks good but not like the anime series or movies at all. My biggest fear (and a very likely one) is that it'll just turn into a standart action movie with a different setting. Hopefully I can still enjoy it just for the cyberpunk stuff, I probably will go see it.
A big budget Hollywood movie isn't going to go the 2deep4u intellectual route and Scarjo is just about the least convincing action star ever so there's probably not going to be much entertaining about it unless you really want to see Scarjo have her arms/legs torn off at some point.
Maybe Batou or Togusa will get to do something cool and there will be a cool spider tank at some point maybe.
It won't have the restrained scope or contemplative moments of the original, but judging by how intent they are on remaking specific scenes, we might see Scarlett Johannsen enter Snap City.
Live action Pandora when?
let me guess, they won't use that song in the actual movie, right?
Looks better than 1995 flick to be honest. /A/ is being a bunch of contrarian poopyheads as usual, not surprising.
/a/ like the horde of normies from whence they spawned expects that when a property from another medium is translated to cinema that it be a 1:1 translation.
This is why /a/ can't enjoy things.
Where are the Tachikoma?
The movie will be better than garbage innocence and entirety of arise.
Deal with it weebs.
Are the weebs still mad that it has a white girl in the leading role and not Hitomi Tanaka?
I notice how the cyborgs, espessily that shot of scarjo disassembled looked kinda... too robotic.
The cyborgs and robotics in GITS tend to be very organically inspired, internally, such as using artificial muscles instead of more "mechanical" mechanisms.
>mfw it actually looks kinda good in some parts
>Liking amorphous nipple-less pancake tits
>draw Motoko as having white features due to japs hating themselves because of atomic bomb trauma shamefur dispray
>act offended when a white actress plays the major in the live action movie
They have no one to blame but themselves
>not Kiko Mizuhara
>not hiring a Japanese actress who models, was born in Texas who is also fluent in English
>not also hiring Kiko as Kayako Ann Patterson for Shin Godzilla as well
That first part reminded me of the from yersterday video from 30 seconds to mars. Otherwise it looks really good. Now that capeshit is dead, animeshit could be the new fade.
>The right for the franchise had to be taken away from the original creator in order for the series to turn good
Attitudes like this are why we're getting this abomination in the first place. I'm glad you degenerate moviefags will finally experience my frustration with dirty plebs like you.
Go fuck yourself.
>anime becomes real just when Trump becomes president
Is it a coincidence ?
Alright faggots listen the fuckity fuck up, I gotta say I'm pretty hype about this from this trailer, sure they've made it western a little with the CIA shit that we saw from earlier but it might not ruin the movie if it has strong philosophy throughout the movie, we could end up with a film that rivals the first Matrix. I want it to be that good but I'm not holding my breath because that's setting the bar super high, none the less we have some very stylized scenes here, the geisha scene at the beginning seems to be a mix of S.A.C the movie and maybe a room taken from the new OVAs, the 4th one to be specific where she assassinates that bitch. The water scene is right out of the 90s movie and it looks like we're getting a tank scene even though they didn't show the tank. What's gonna matter here is the plot, we can have all these great scenes but without a fantastic plot to support it it'll fall short.
I hope you arent serious about casting pic related as the major
What's wrong with that?
it does not look EXACTLY like it, I would know since I watch the movie and the TV series all the fucking time, we're getting a very obvious blend of all the animated stuff we currently have
