Best of the year. Mob Psycho and Tanaka-kun are the only ones I would rewatch, I think. Flip Flappers has the potential to be higher but they will most likely waste it.

KyoAni was a mistake. Hibike Euphonium novels is an Ensemble Drama with Kumiko as the POV. It's pretty serious and light on fluff. However as beautiful as the animation in the anime is they completey changed the tone of the novel. They marketed side characters like Midori and Hazuki because of the moe girl group appeal. They reduced the significance of male characters like Shuichi. They increased the yuri-bait compared to the novels(which was kind of shojou-ai to begin with). The competition parts and the scenes during the typhoon is actually a good representation of the novel's tone. They put too much fluff ant energy in the show. The only thing I like about the anime right now is the stunning animation and giving a face to the band. I think PA Works/Production IG/A-1 would do a better job with the tone.

I'm halfway through the first season thanks to the constant threads about it and I really like it. Not as much as K-On, but it's going for an entirely different plot.
