Idk why he was so dumb to get caught. I was rooting for him and really thought there was a chance he could make it. It's just a shame that the last 1/3 of the anime was garbage. The whole Light vs. L struggle was everything. Shoehorning Near and Mello in was such a fucking mistake. Just consider L's death the cannon ending to the story.
