And it wasn't just crossboaders, but a lot of Mayoiga posters were plain new. Newfags saw the "cool" Another and SamFlam trainwreck threads and they desperatly want to join in as well. A shame, Mayoiga was just plain shit.

It's pretty much already been answered, but a combination of cancerous crossboarders, memes and the actual expectation of shit getting real at some point is what drove the popularity of the show on /a/.

Shame that literally nothing happened. I actually might have a slightly positive opinion of the show despite the threads if at least some people died or some really crazy shit happened instead of just psych 101 lecture.
