For those that missed it yesterday, the preview is out and translated. Kind of short, but it starts off giving us something to speculate on.
Spoiler images with real and fake spoilers mixed in around 4 days. 3 at the earliest, 5 at the latest.
Here's the illustration the preview came with.
Unrelated, but how do you feel about WR sending people to a part of the same world that normal people can't access? Kind of like the "this side of the coin" thing from OT2 except far more permanent? If it's something like that, I wonder if its possible IB can negate it? Phase fuckery, maybe?
First three parts of chapter 1 is out too. There's no way Touma and Fran are going to be able to handle the Kamisato's faction by themselves. Surely they'll get support from Kamijou's ragtag faction. Definitely Mikoto, Index, and Othinus. Maybe Accelerator. Kakine and Shiage are most likely. But to deal with Yuiitsu, Touma is gonna need heavy hitters from the magic side. I'm hoping for Birdway, Fiamma, Laura, and a saint or two.
WR sending people to a different world was a likely theory, but NT17 confirms it. Since saving Kamisato is the plot, there's no doubt that Touma will manage to do exactly that in the end.
Don't you mean "not sending people to a different world"?
I was a fan of the theory that WR was a monkey paw that granted your wish in a twisted way but judging from what Kakeru experienced in the prologue, it seems more like banishment to a special phase in the world that's both difficult to access and difficult to leave. Assuming Touma can figure something out, it sounds like IB may be just the thing necessary to save him. Touma's gonna have to figure it out and find some kind of entry point, though. Maybe Kakeru's hand?
> "not sending people to a different world"?
That's what some people thought. Kamisato wasn't 100% sure what WR did himself, but based on the the phrase he uses to activate WR, it was always generally assumed that WR exiled beings and objects.
Maybe. From the tone Kamachi was using, I don't think we're getting a "Kamisato can never be saved and will be tortured by the magic gods forever." If it so happens that it's impossible to break into this world via IB or any other method, I think Kamisato will make peace with the magic gods.
I really don't think we're in for a "Kamisato can't be saved". I think we're getting something similar to NT9 ending with Kamisato's rescue. I also think he and Touma are going to end up very good friends
While it was assumed that's what WR did, there were also plenty of people that thought Kakeru's idea of what WR did was bullshit in some way. Some people thought it just killed you. Now it just feels like some sort of phase fuckery. I don't know why he uses that phrase or how he figured it out, but I suspect needing the phrase to activate it might be bullshit too. I expect a lot more info on that soon.
There's still a problem of getting Kamisato out of the other world. This isn't a matter of punching some magical MacGuffin or casting a spell your average magician can come up with. This shit should require powers from the realm of Magic Gods. Namely WR, IB, memes or phases. In other words the options are:
- Yuiitsu gets rekt, WR is used to bring Kamisato back,
- Kamisato does something from the inside, possibly aided by Magic Gods,
- IB finally is used properly,
- some wild IT fuckery,
- Aleister gets tired of this shit.
As for the information source:
- Othinus spills the beans,
- Aleister/Aiwass helps Touma for some reason,
- lol dunno, it just werks XD
Yuuitsu definitely needs to go. Something about her just seems to..tryhard? Generic? Out of place? I don't really know how to describe the feeling but I do think it's time for Yuuitsu to get wrecked. Maybe it's not so much that something is wrong with her as much as it is that scene with Salome and taunt to Aleister feels like it's about time to for her to get her shit kicked in.
There's no Touma-senpai there to notice them.
That and it happens all the time. People think they want something but hem they get it they find it doesn't really match up to expectations. Or they find that it was a terrible idea.
Even though it is very unlikely, I am a fan of the "Aleister waits for or even aids Touma in finding the dimension in record time, and then crushes it" idea. It would be dark yes, but it would be an incredible way to show that Aleister is not fucking around anymore.
Then maybe when can get some goddamn endgame going
I was under the impression they just wanted a way for their power to not fuck up the planet. You'd think the nerf taking away their phase fuckery would have fixed that. This should accomplish that unless it didn't and just made it harder for them to do what they wanted.
They don't want to fuck up the world but they still want to act on it. They wanted Touma to make sure their alterations were actually helping people.
At least that's what they claimed.
>a part of the same world that normal people can't access
Like pocket dimensions, like Imaginary Number District?
Usually this in the realm of magic that's European/Scandinavian. Avalon and shit.
Something like that. If it's some kind of Aleister-tier power that a kid who barely knows how to use it randomly got a hold of, no wonder Aleister lost his shit. I wonder if Aleister is planning on taking that power for himself somehow? Maybe not directly, but at least ensure a loyal puppet of his has it? That would explain why Kamisato was a problem and imply he plans to have the hand snatched back from Yuuitsu.
So what is the difference between phases like the ones Othinus made where they are all that exist until she makes a new one or IB clicks back to the old, and phases that exist on simultaneously with the current but don't interact, the Imaginary numbers district, WR land, and the place where angels live.
Othinus's phases were directly applied on top of the existing reality
WR and the Imaginary Numbers District are sort of "in between" moments of reality, I'm not sure how best to explain it
The Magic God sekrit klub was "above" reality and the layers applied by Othinus
Why doesn't Touma just ask for help from his harem?
She has no charisma. She's been pulling strings since NT4, but you barely notice her or care she does, by the time she becomes an active antagonist her only motivation is muh revenge and copying doge's qualities. Really, we should be excited with Aleister being pushed in and Touma being forced shit that is ridiculously beyond his powerlevel but she doesn't have the pull.
Because he knows that when the chips are down bros are better than bitches and whores.
>He brought a hand to his chin and thought for a while. He gave a serious look to the dozen or so people here.
>He then pointed at the ones he had chosen for the search team.
Because nearly all of them can't assist him with his actual issue. A few of them could help keep Kamisato's girl's off his ass but that doesn't solve the real issue. Index and Othinus are the only two that can even begin to offer help. Assuming you could WR a single clone and not all of them, Will might could be useful for communication between the worlds. The best we can hope for is the likes of Accelerator and Mikoto to show up and distract Kamisato's girls
It'd be alright considering he'd probably get saved along with Kakeru. I wonder if Accelerator would bother to help him, though. He'd have no reason to help Kakeru. And since we now know WR doesn't even pretend to grant a wish or even erase your memories of the real world, Accelerator would probably be losing his shit trying to figure out what the hell happened and where Last Order is.
Actually, if he DID figure it out, I think he'd be even more likely to be losing his shit. He'd be able to figure out he's away from Last Order and can't get back to her. He isn't gonna flop down on the ground and go "welp this is my life now". I suppose we could go the route of him protecting Kamisato so he can beat info out of him later.
Not that I actually think he got WR. I mean, its slightly more possible now but I dunno about that.
Unlike Kamisato's harem, Touma's allies aren't a plot device. They won't just unconditionally help him, they have their own matters to deal with, their own goals and views.
Also most of them are far away or not immediately accessible.
God, this Kamisato's Faction is so fucking stupid. He has saved several magical girls per day, each of them instantly became obsessed with him and decided to abandon her previous life to go on adventures with her savior as his personal army. That's just retarded.
Jesus got 12 guys to abandon their lives by just saying "hey mate come follow me". That isn't really the ridiculous part. The fucking stupid part is the fact they ALL trusted Yuuitsu over Touma.
He probably decided they weren't much of a threat and went home. The largest reason I don't believe he was WR'd and won't believe it unless Kamachi reveals otherwise is Kamisato's behavior after Accelerator's attack. I'm postive he just blew them away. Do we even have confirmation Kamisato actually saw Accelerator and didn't just see the aftermath?
They werefilming thah snuff film when Salome came and accelerator jumped there too and caused a tornado. There is no way Kamisato didnt see him. Accel was also angry as fuck. I doubt he would just walk away and be like lol k bro just kidding
Him deciding to walk away wouldn't mean he's not angry. Don't you think after he confirmed these new fuckheads weren't a threat to him he would have immediately gone back to Last Order (who I'm sure was in public) to make sure no one had attempted to hurt her?
I'm sure it went like this:
>"Fuck these idiots. Better go check on the brat."
>"Oi brat. You okay? Good. Let's get the hell home."
If he was killed or WR, I'm sure Kamisato would have mentioned it
It's explained the first time WR was introduced. It's like if you stretch out any point in space-time, you can find that it can actually contain much more that what's observable. It's like having a 120 FPS monitor but the human eye can only track 60. If you watched Concrete Revolutio, it's roughly the same concept that makes Megasshin "invisible" when he fights the Kaijuus, except much more removed from observable reality.
>yfw still waiting for NT, Railgun, and Accel's themes to synergize for the endgame of the light novels
Betting there'd be some demonic soul shit in Railgun if it weren't for the hiatuses.
Think photoshop. Othinus "wrecked" the world by basically creating a new 100% opaque (blending = normal) layer filled with black, then painted over it until she got what she wanted. The other existing phases are similar layers with varying blending modes and opacity that are all piled on top of the original canvass which is the Pure World. The secret club is a layer outside the canvass and WR land are the scaling artifacts when you blow up the image.
It's just Kamachi's writing style. He makes every new character his self-insert mary sue that automatically knows everything and is wise beyond measure. Then they get their shit pushed in, become retarded and we move on to the next new character that shares the same irritating qualities. This has been the prevailing formula in NT since the first novel. This shit never happened in OT.
>She had grown cruelly involved when Kamisato Kakeru had killed the golden retriever that Academy City had sent as an assassin.
I like how this recap doesn't even bother to explain Noukan in any way.
Index is a girl. I don't care what anybody says.
>Kill Kamijou Touma. I will use that to measure the loyalty of my new tools.
This made me chuckle because at no point was he mentioned until this line. Poor fucking guy. Scavenger has no right to complain.
She's not a boy. Her and Kuroko opened an all girls bath house.
Threadly reminder that Scavenger deserves every second of bullying they get.
Salome didn't know and didn't do much, Othinus is a god it would be weird if she wasn't OP. Birdway largely existed for exposition, And Thor jobbed out to frauilien, got spooked by Olly, and lost to Touma while in Thunder god mode all in his first two volumes. He didn't get good until NT10.
Then got taken out by Thomas. I can't really call that jobbing though. How the hell do you see that coming when Touma wouldn't pick up the gun, but would gladly hit him with a train.
Do you guys ever feel bad that despite everything Touma does he still doesn't have a best friend to share his feelings with?
This is where Touma belongs.
Everyone that cries "B-b-b-but he rejected it!1!1!1! He's so badass that he'll force things to work another way!!!11" is going to get a rude awakening when HP is right and Touma is forced to achieve godhood and remake reality to his liking
I really can't see them all surviving this for some reason. The magic gods have quite the habit of dying whenever the directly help somebody. "Would this be the time?" are going to be many of their final words. Of course I could be wrong.
Tokiwadai girls get shorter skirts because they must look cuter for the city as they're one of the leading schools.
The magic gods aren't even evil, rather, they're kind. Touma doesn't have anything against them other than PTSD attacks because of Othinus, but it's not like any of the others are going to destroy the world they actually care about.
Time to make random guesses at cameos so I can brag later if they happen.
>Girl in Dress
>Hard mode: Mie with a good design/illustration
If none of these happen I will eat my own shit.
Touma's classmates covering his back.
>hype characters people wanted like Item
>people wanted Item
>implying that people haven't been asking for more Hamazura and co. since forever
The filler volume didn't count.
AAARRRGGGHHH KANZAKI HELP ME, IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN
AAAAAA HE'S PUNCHING ME HARD AND IT HURTS
KANZAKI THIS ISN'T FUNNY
LET ME GO YOU UGLY URCHIN OR I'LL TELL KANZAKI
AAAAAARRRGGHHHH IT WON'T STOP
*gasp* WAIT, IS THAT...
YURIKO IS HERE TO SAVE ME
GET HIM YURIKO
Since the thread is dying, I just wanna say that I ship Awaki and Styil.
I MUST AVENGE HER!
I'M BIG...AND STRONG! FOR YURIKOOOOOOO
Her name is Suzushina Yuriko
Don't bully him mobileposter, he's not aware of your 80+ sprees that keep threads alive.
Sadly not today. It's Stiyl who will be keeping this one alive.
Touma punches are still somehow one of the most satisfying forms of animated violence I have ever seen.
>“By summoning the Wicked ‘Green’ Woman who Fills the World with Empty Treasure…one of the Three from the Unexplored-class…and increasing her power with Pandemonium…we will tear down the hierarchy and defeat the White Queen…”
I'm starting to think that the Goons of Honor fanatism is the most sensible villain's motivation in Blood Sign.
>Hating one of the best boys to have graced the series
He can definitely bring something to the series, he just has to real back his weird, paradoxical, elitist-normal mentality. He could be Touma's new buddy cop since Stiyl and Tsuchimikado have all but disappeared.
Even Touma is tsundere for Kamisato.
>Kamisato faction sent to kill Touma
>Anti Yuiitsu groups start moving, ready to kill the attack harem
>Touma has to intervene because he promised Kamisato he would take care of them
>General lawlessness lets skillout go apeshit
This novel has the potential to be a beautiful clusterfuck.
Since WR sends things to a some space between the shutters of reality, or however the hell it was described, is there a Touma arm just lying on the floor over there? Also, how long do you guys think it will take Touma to remember that IB made it back from WR land and use that as a guide?
>magic gods come back
>touma looks around
>no high priest
That is easy
- the only characters appearing in this volume are Kamisatos harem, Yuuitsu, Touma and Fran
- Touma doesn't punch even one of the Sato bitches, only Yuuitsu gets one single punch
- At end Sato still comes not back and we will have another volume with only Touma and Fran or whoever else against Yuuitsu
Or alternatively he and his harem become one of the active main characters.
That would make it one of the worst volumes.
Sure normally shipping stuff generates the most shitposting but don't think anything of that will appear in this volume.
>all the magic gods come back
>we find out Accel has been chasing someone who stole LO
>instead of Aleister screaming keikaku doori
>Mie walks up to confront all the magic gods as she reveals herself to be
>proceeds to solo all of them
Touma freeing Kamisato from WR-land at the cost of being stuck there himself and thus effectively written out of the story.
People who hated Touma for being a Gary Stu would rejoice for all of a handful of minutes before Kamisato became Raildex's answer to Kirito and Tatsuya and made Touma look sane in comparison.
Touma accidentally's the magic gods back, has to actually become their arbitrator to keep their collective asses in check, proceeds to become the demon king that fucks everything up.
All MGs land at Touma's home, they were just tsundere about wanting to stay with Touma
and didn't wanted to lower their head to just say that they want to enjoy the NEET lifestyle, sucks to be Touma.
Now we have the other fairiy MGs also there and Othinus fighting with them for Touma's attention.
Othinus will be the tsundere, Niang-Niang the kuudere and the others no idea really.
Let the new story of Touma and his MGfairy harem start.
Because she is literally a literally who? of the Kiharas. And yet somehow she not only made Aleister fuck off from his tank but fucking up the city as well. She has no special Kihara qualities, she's a super scientist like everyone else but has no quirk of her own other than stealing from her sensei. She's like the Mie of Kiharas, no outstanding qualities but we are forced to take her seriously. Like, she feels like an ordinary girl with a dog (her love for him feels really forced, like whenever Jennifer Lawrence tries to be quirky) that is somehow a Kihara as well. Sure, one can say that about Enshuu as well but she however is a Kihara whose entire schtick is trying to mimic qualities of other Kiharas. With Yuiitsu, she has no special Kihara qualities or powers (steal a bunch of plot devices in previous novels), and her main motivation is revenge, well, gee, how original.
Her appearance in the forefront immediately after the magic gods are fucked up as the main antagonist just doesn't feel right as well.
But I could forgive all that if she wasn't such a bore.
>anything really bad or really good with a ship (i.e. Mikoto showing up and shit goes down that either progresses her ship greatly or sets it back, Fran entering the Touma bowl)
>Magic gods returning
>Touma admitting he cares deeply for Kamisato and thinks they'd be better off sticking together
Anything shipping related, no amounts of plot and keikaku can compete with this kind of autism. Although any remotely fun things here like
>kamikuro is real
>Mikoto falls in love with Kamisato
>Touma is gae now
>Mie wins the Touma bowl and still gets no illustration
are completely unrealistic.
I guess out of possible things, kamikoto confirmed/ruined would generate the greatest amounts of sperging, both here and outside of /a/.
>The term “electrical attack” had a frightening ring to it, but it was a kind light to her. She could not forget the night on which she first became able to use her power. She had crawled under her blanket and sent out small sparks all night long. She had seen them as sparkling stars. She had seriously thought that she might be able to create a starry sky one day when she was older and stronger.
This is all moving too fast for me anon, could you slow it down?
I'm just not getting it anon. Are you speaking in some form of code?
Another preview of illustration that come with Railgun volume 12, drawn by Ururihi (sin Nanatsu no Taisai's mangaka).
What do you think about WR land getting destroyed and thus making the hand a legitimate normal hand? Whether or not Kamisato and/or the magic gods make it out before it gets destroyed is up for debate
You can't really destroy it, since doing so would require tapping in the the very core of how Raildex world works. It's not just a layer or phase, it's an actual, physical part of the world.
I just feel like doing something with this part of the world - busting it open, destroying it or it's access point, or even just tapping into it temporarily - is gonna get us closer to end game
It things happening in WR land truly do not affect the observable world, then it's basically the perfect laboratory for massive experiments. But I don't think it's truly, fully closed off. Since the MGs didn't know about it, it's possible it's not affected by the phases. Therefore, it might the only once accessible place through which the Pure World can be reached.
This could also work. I also feel like Will-chan might be some sort of thing Aleister might be planning on using to break through phases. WR land seems like an "in between state" too. I don't think there's a clone in WR land but there's probably electronics she can inhabit
