I have an impaired memory. I have an extremely hard time remembering new words, even if I see them on a regular basis for several days. Sometimes I feel like I would have an easier time if I had a set event to "bind" new words to. However, anything I think of, such as rituals, schedules, or mnemonics, falls apart and becomes dull after the first few words. I've tried cycling them, but then that cycle itself becomes the dull ritual. Even doing them randomly doesn't help. I'm considering self-harm as a regular ritual to bind new words to, because it should never become dull, but I still live with my family, and self-harm is considered very culturally unacceptable.
