Avoid the manga, is long, slow and if you expect a good romance you will be dissapointed. Also, reading the first 12 chapters and realise that already one year in-universe pass (monthly series) without any progress and then in the next ones time became irrelevant is just infuriating. Clearly, the author didnt even have a plan for the series in the short, middle or long run.

Come on anon, the art style in the first chapters was lackluster. Improved a lot but it took 20? 30? chapters to at least to become decent. And even when the author try to retcon Belldandy look, in that chapter when she admit that she was watching keiichi through monitors even before the wish (or something like that) the author could not copy his old style and it was, lets say in this way, Belldandy with modern art with black hair instead of the Belldandy of the first chapters.

At the very least berserk had some very solid arcs worth re-reading for different reasons even if the ending ends up being a disaster. If I want grim adventure I can go back to the BS and Lost Children arcs. If I want inquisitions and medieval warfare and conquest with a great cast I can read the golden age and tower of conviction or millennium falcon. All of these are worth reading again. So at least miura has given us some gold even if the series will end with shit.
