Of all the possible characters or events/bacstories why Hisagi and Renruki? There's literally nothing to squeeze out of those we got all the depth we could get and no a possible bankai reveal doesn't give enough grounds for a whole light novel.
Why not royal guard characters backstory? Yoruichi or Urahara? Espadas dead or living? Isshin? Shiba family? Original Gotei 13? The four new captains? How the quincies were enlisted? Even retelling of Arrancar arc from Aizen or Gin's perspective or even detailing Matsumoto's missing soul dropped plot has more potential content? But no Hisagi he was soooo important and mattered when you could literally replace him in any scene with Kira, who was a much more interesting character.

Orihime powers is on the same level as Yhwach, something that should not be in bleach.

I dont know if you read a webnovel called Worm, but people there all have reality warping powers, Orihime would fit right in.

But bleach is a story about people bashing each others with swords, a story where "Behold, I will now use two hands to wield this sword" is a actual power up, much as I like Orihime, her power is just not fun to write in a setting like Bleach.

I don't think you've read enough unpopular manga if you still think Kubo is the worst writer out there. He's pretty average for a mangaka and sometimes can create a genuine twist when he can be assed. Arguably he failed (possibly because he was trying to push it so hard) but if you have any sense you'd know he was heading for that route. The fact that Orihime didn't get over Ichigo after the SS arc and became more intensely in love with him was the nail in the coffin I'm afraid.
Ichigo ending up with Rukia was just too cruel of a conclusion for Orihime. Any Ichiruki moments post SS where fanservice. Kubo knows what sells.

It's sad to see people upset about a Rukia centered novel. I thought they loved her since they always talk about what a great character she is. I guess they really only care about their ship.

Endings usually suck anyway. Most people hate the Harry Potter ending for being a bit bland but does that make the entire series garbage? It's still beloved by everyone, even the Harmonizers or whatever they're called. Same with Avatar and the Zutara and Makorra fans.
