Although my headcanon would be that Cooler's 5th form is a perfected version of Frieza's "100% form" and Gold form would be a 6th transformation, not that it matters since we'll never see Cooler again.

If we take that as an example of how he beat the shit out of Vegeta then chances are Cold is anywhere from 2-3 times stronger than Frieza was in his second form.

It's still impressive since you can theorise that if he's 3x stronger in 2nd form then he should be 3x stronger in his 4th form but there's nothing to suggest he even had a 3rd or 4th form other than Frieza did.

Metal Cooler's movie was villain rehash done much, MUCH better than Resurrection of F.

Both Gold and Metal are just repaints, but Metal has a cool gimmick and a back story that makes more sense, plus a surprise giant form, even if it only shows for like 10 secs.

Someone could still go back in time to save Goku and help fight Cell and 16-20, but it would most likely be Gohan due to power differences, and that would significantly alter Veggie's character development, and Cell could still steal a time machine.

That said, you do run into the massive paradox of "Trunks changed things so Gohan's the time traveler now, so Trunks never became a Patroller and never saved Gohan"

Unless F. F. Gohan goes back to save F. Gohan, or goes back to stop Trunks from saving F. Gohan, at which point you get some kind of turbo paradox deluxe that collapses on itself and starts anew.

HEEERE'S THE TRICKY PART

It seems to be that when ningen tech is used to timetravel, like Trunks did originally, it creates alternate timelines, and thus new Time Rings. So there should be two new, unwanted rings in Zamasu's little jewelry box, and any changes made to one have no bearing on the others.
It also seems when magics are used, you go to the intended timeline, and all of your actions have deep butterfly-effect ramifications, if you die in the past you die in real life.

Trunks uses magic to go back to the original timeline and change it, so any and all of the changes that occur there affect everything. Due to this, Trunks himself should have been altered the moment that change was cemented, as the change in O would affect both 1 and 2, and thus looping back to O in an infinite paradoxical series.
