Why are people still using these "comic" fonts? Why not use a more legible font instead? Something that isn't all-caps for example. Why do typesetters want to emulate times when speech bubbles had to be handwritten? It's terrible for readability.

I think WildWords and its ilk are better than Times New Roman and Courier. You know those translations that used them. They were ugly as sin, right? I think I have an old Gundam Wing manga somehwere that was done all in a bolded serif font. It was god-awful.

Comic Sans deserves 99.9% of the hate it gets because it's dumb to use it as a regular font, but the one context where it has some validity to be used is in comics. I'd still wouldn't recommend it but I wouldn't hate on it either.
