Well, that was a fun ride. Started reading this when it literally first came out, didn't know half the time what was happening, but fuck it - it kept on getting crazier, and I loved every second of it.

But every ride has to end - Bleach was bad and boring, Naruto was awful and dumb, but Toriko was just so hilariously dumb and bad, it flipped it up and became amazing instead.

Agreed. Tons of characters with plot potential disappeared after the PAIR arc, and the rest of the full course was skipped over by dividing the group.
At that point I'm guessing the PAIR arc was so weird and nonsensical that the editors started wanting him to wrap up soon, so he rushed to the end and the climax was good enough to keep him going a bit longer until that dragged out. Really, JUMP has just been shitting on a lot of their longer series and forcing their authors to cut out tons of plot. I think Oda might be the only one now who they let get away with it without special contract.
