There is no true peace. War is needed to balance forces, like the dead skin that is regenerated. The real question is limiting human prowess to destroy itself and the environment. Maybe if we see a nuclear war, e.g., humanity will go back to the age of stone and, hopefully, modern science will be forever gone. This is the closest we are ever going to be from peace.

Pretty sure most of the antagonists were proper villians aside from Itachi and well Pain and the sandpeople which even got recruited to the good guys.

Just because every dickhead got his own little sad backstory or his chance to help defeat an even bigger asshole, it doesn't mean they weren't full blown psychopaths and in the wrong.
