Sure she is leaving the cast, and will likely only come back for a cameo. But that can be said about literally every other female lead. Serena makes more sense to cling to as a future romance option (if the Satoshi story ever comes to a close) than Kasumi, Haruka, or Hikari. And yet people still push for those ships after all these years.

Sure it's not like they decided to date or anything like that. But the point of the matter is that this is far more than anything literally every other girl has gotten. Sun and Moon might introduce another love interest, but frankly we don't know that yet. All we know right now is that Serena has the most canonical and explicit romance scenes with Ash in over a decade.

No use pointing out how Sun and Moon might handle the romance subplot when, in your own words, we are not "knowing of the circumstances".

Well I don't browse there, so I guess I fortunately haven't gotten a look at it. But it will probably die down by the end of the week or something if the general trend for big shipping moments is the same there.

While proclaiming it as a "victory" is a bit silly, since as anyone knows in a romance series a kiss doesn't mean she's be the winning girl at all. This is still an unprecedented moment in this series. Yet them have their time to shine, and don't let it bother you so much.

I'm still over here celebrating the kiss (I did ship them after-all), but I'm not saying they are destined for marriage or anything. Though I bet people are going to throw a few fits if they don't do a nod towards her existence every now and then in the new series.
