You're now living in a world where EoE never happened. How does it change your appreciation of the TV show?
>>149118569
Misato is still best girl. Show is still garbage.
EoE is a really good pay off after slogging through the TV show. If it didn't exist then I think it would still get love for being different and interesting but everyone would admit it was basically shit
>>149118569
Nothing change, because I've never watched it.
I would continue not giving a fuck about this shitty overrated trash.
>>149121724
Get out.
>>149118569
A bit les , because there'd be less Eva mass-production gangbang doujins
>>149118569
I'd probably appreciate it less.
EoE kinda sucked, it didn't fit the tone of the rest of the series, not as a climax at least. Episode 25 and 26 of the series was a good ending, it was weird and it could have done with a bit more lead-up between 24 and 25 to show them entering instrumentality, but at the end of the day it was a good pay off to finally have Shinji [and Rei and Asuka] come to terms with their problems and themselves. Cinematically speaking, it was a wonderfully psychological experience and was a pretty damn genius way to explore the characters and, frankly, I commend Anno for taking the budget cuts and time limits and working within his restrictions [an idea kinda reflected in the episodes themselves, actually] to create something as good as he did.
>>149122354
so basically you didn't like EoE because it was too heavy and bleak rather than AU fan wank, clip show, cheesy feel-good shite?
>>149122579
Hey, sue me, I like a happy ending. Maybe I'm not cut out for the depressing heavy-handed and bleakness that Evangelion was intended to be, but I think it worked out better without it anyways. The series had a message of depression, dealing with it, and learning about how you see and treat yourself and those around you, and ultimately learning to love yourself, and all that nice happy junk. EoE seemed to kinda abandon the theming that had built up to that, and just go for a whole "Fuck you for being you, you can't save everyone, also everything is Freudian sexual imagery now and we are not gonna make it subtle"
Maybe that scratches some people's itch for a feel-bad story, and more power to those people for enjoying it. But I just ain't one of them.
>get 26 episodes of a raggedy group overcoming all odds and triumphing over overwhelming adversity.
>the finale has them getting utterly destroyed in less than an hour, everything they worked so hard to protect easily being crushed and them all murdered
That was a magical experience. Why don't more shows do this?
>>149122946
Now that you put it that way...
EoE was brilliant wasn't it?
>>149122946
18 episodes. Show devoted a lot of time to stripping away the connections made in the first two acts, everybody entered the movie ready to die.
>>149122018
>claims it's shitty overrated trash
>tells someone to get out for not watching it
What did he mean by this?
>>149122763
>shinji was hated by fans for being a depressed kid
>anno made him masturbate over the comatose body of his friend
>now fans hate him for an actually valid reason
what a bummer
>>149118569
I watched the original series a while back, and I fucking loved it. The ending was great, I really didn't get the hate some people had for it. Then I watched EoE for official 3rd impact, and could not have been prepared for everyone getting fucking destroyed and actually losing.
I think I would still love the series, but the movie just finishes it off in an incredible way that has never been done before or since.
>>149122946
EOE technically had a happy ending though, considering that Instrumentality was halted and that Shinji gained the will to live.
>>149119989
>Eva
>shit
>>149118569
>on the lips
Isn't purple hair approaching 30?
Shinji's like, 16 or something?
>>149118682
objectively.
>>149127327
No.
>>149127388
yes
>>149118569
Can't say because i watched EoE 46 minutes after i finished the TV show
I would have been left pondering about the ending that was mentioned on the 1993 proposal text.
>>149127878
No.
>>149127208
That was an adult kiss, she put her tongue in. He's 14 and she just turned 30 from dates given in supplements.
>>149118682
first post best post
>>149128758
>show is still garbage
But he's wrong and you know it.
Agree about Misato.
>>149128200
yes
Before I saw EoE I enjoyed the series very much.
After EoE I enjoyed it even more.
>>149129011
I had a bunch of stupid crap typed up but thats basically it.
I should probably rewatch, its been a few years
>>149128888
Nope he is right. If you take off your fanboy glasses you will realise that eva is objectively shit.
>>149129667
Nah you're just a contrarian hipster. It's one of the best TV anime in history.
>>149128930
I think not.
>>149128521
Bet if their genders were reversed that part would've been retconned.
>>149131003
I think yes
>>149131539
I don't think that's the movie to shy away from something for being uncomfortable and sorta gross.
>>149130415
The key word is "History". It may have been good then, but in current times, it's shit. Art is shit, plot is shit, budget is shit, oh and did I mention art is shit?
Pic related. It's eye cancer.
>>149118569
Evangelion without EoE is like eating cereal without the milk.
>>149131900
why would they spend any of their budget animating the worst girl?
>>149131900
>>149132026
Why should you samefag and pretend you don't?
>>149122763
>I like a happy ending
Oops. It looks like you didn't get it. Perhaps you need to rewatch the series and EoE?
>>149132090
I'm the guy posting Misatos though
>>149128888
>he's wrong and you know it.
he's right and i know it
