Tsundere girl is getting fed warm milk by bottle because her mom isn't feeding her properly but they never depict the bottle having an airhole to cover in order for the milk to flow steadily like a vacuum, as it would with real breasts.

I hate immersion breaking ones like that, it doesn't vent make sense.

That's not a cliche; most interior doors don't have locks in Japan unless it's a newer construction or you put them in yourself.

Just for once I'd like to see one where the MC explains it was an accident and a slightly flustered female lead says "It's fine, but don't do that again!"

to be honest, highschool theme is being dominant in these last decade.

Maybe it has something to do with escapism and that modern otakus are nostalgic about their highschool days.

I don't see why an otaku would be nostalgic about their high school career, since they were probably lonely and bullied in high school, too. I'm sure the main reason a high school setting is so prominent is because most anime viewers in Japan are in high school or, if they're not, then most everybody went to high school and can relate to the characters to some degree.

>I don't see why an otaku would be nostalgic about their high school career
If I can give my own personal perspective without being berated for "blogposting", I consider high school the best period in my life. I wasn't exactly popular, but I had a small group of friends (mostly because in high school you're constantly forced to hang out with other people so you almost automatically make friends) and had a purpose in life. Especially after graduating from university I've felt directionless and alone (though I'd consider this the second best period in my life, if only due to the large degree of freedom).

I imagine a lot of otaku feel the same. They long for the simple days when you had a clear long-term goal, clear expectations and always had at least one or two people willing to hang out with you. Especially when you consider that in Japanese high schools, clubs are a big deal so you always end up with a little "nakama".

And let's not forget that high school is where most people get their first touch of love, which in the eyes of a lot of people is a big deal. A lot of otaku feel like they're "too late" for romance (because all the women worth dating are already taken and sometimes even married), so they long back to the days of high school when finding your future wife while she was still pure and virginal was still an option.

In short, high school is where you discover who you are and what you want to do with life. A lot of otaku feel like they were somehow cheated out of that opportunity, so they compensate with escapism. This is also why in anime, a lot of "high schoolers" behave like adults: to an extent, they behave the same way many Otaku wished they had behaved back then. Or maybe I'm just projecting.
>>
>>149070117

>they were probably lonely and bullied in high school

that's the point, they want to recreate those days by being awesome or doing something out of this world.

> I'm sure the main reason a high school setting is so prominent is because most anime viewers in Japan are in high school or, if they're not, then most everybody went to high school and can relate to the characters to some degree.

There is shonen and shoujo, sure. But there is anime/manga aired to adult males or females that still use the highschool theme.

I don't mind this cliché because it makes sense and you don't really notice it unless you pay active attention to it. Even then, it doesn't really change anything about the plot.

It also makes a lot of sense because it's relatively far from the teacher, allowing more plot-relevant events and conversations to take place.
