Well, right now Berserk is scarier. Things are uncharacteristically peaceful and high spirits, even considering the geography of where all of the important characters are. I know that Miura said that he couldn't bring himself to make a sad ending to the manga, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of room for one last tragedy...

I've been rereading the first few arcs of Berserk lately and I had forgotten how accentuated Guts's inability to be quite as disregarding of other people as he wants to be. He really wants to not give a shit whether people he meets live or die but he can't keep himself from stopping his blade when someone really innocent is in its path.
