Would Lelouch's role in the story have been better filled with a female character given that :
-He shows absolutely no interest in any female at all, even when a nearly naked C.C. is lounging in his room
-He is obsessed with Suzaku, far beyond the point of seeing him as just an enemy or rival
The "scheming" type seems to be better done by females in general as well.

If Nunnally is turned into a crippled blind boy, why not? It would also explain why he fails in any form of exercise. And have the ending of Suzaku finally getting over Euphy and fall in love with Lelouch, only to forsake him for the Zero Requiem.
