why is there no thread about this?
People on /a/ aren't interested in discussing it, because last season, everyone said that it was really boring, unspectacular, absolutely gay, and that next season would be even more boring.
>>148995552
Because the first couple of episodes this season were pure filler, so it was boring shit.
Now that it's back to present day, people are still not going to to pay attention to it
>>148996129
But people in past threads said the first eps of this season were 10x better than the shlock of s1
>>148995552
Too good for /a/
>>148995552
When everyone drops the show because the first cour is a bunch of garbage comedy with jokes for "villains" except for That One Guy who somehow works for the jokevillain organization, then it isn't likely the 2nd cour will get much attention
>>148995552
Because the first season wasn't really good enough to continue watching.
But hey, at least it wasn't as downright bland as Joker Lame.
>>148996150
Really? I fucking hated it. Thought it broke the flow that the end of S1 established.
That being said, Dark Dazai was a solid character
>>148996215
If the flow you mean is the mostly comedic silly Bungling Stray Dogs then yeah it breaks that. But some of us want edgy serious anime with compartmentalized comedy if any.
>>148996280
To each their own I guess.
The show is still good though, I just really wasn't a fan of the first couple episodes of S2
the show is pretty good and underrated tbqh
>>148995552
Im still triggered on why they made a show about japanese classical authors with superpowers
I liked S1 but dropped S2 because Dazai and his arch is my least favorite
There's nothing really to discuss, it's just organizations fighthting each other and the characters aren't that controversial/bad/good for people to bother discuss/fight over them.
>back to being mediocre next episode
>>148995552
>why is there no thread about this?
It's not very popular here.
>>148996129
>Because the first couple of episodes this season were pure filler, so it was boring shit.
Now this is some shit taste
The first 4 episodes of the second season are miles better than anything in the first season
>>148999702
What a shame
>>148999909
>The first 4 episodes of the second season are miles better than anything in the first season
I'm really gonna have to disagree man. The first 4 episodes of S2 felt so out of place and filler-like. Seeing PM Dazai was the only redeeming factor in that mini-arc.
>>149000258
They are out of place because season 1 was just fujobait and comedy with the occasional underwhelming super power scene.
I guess it just comes down to what you prefer. Personally I liked the more serious tone that they went for with these 4 episodes.
>>148995552
Because it's been six days since the last episode, and even live threads during airing don't hit bump limit.
>>149000451
>6 days
They released an extra episode over the weekend, but the point still stands.
>>149000471
>They released an extra episode over the weekend
Thanks for the heads up. They say why? I've never seen that happen.
You'll never get me to watch the first season, and I won't watch the second without watching the first.
>>149000358
It's a damn shame that it's going back to the present time with the next episode. I'm just hoping it remains slightly darker throughout the rest of the season.
>>148995552
Patiently waiting for Impatience. It's a hell of a lot more interesting than the start of the first season so far.
S2 began so well, the super powers and the character antics didn't murder the serious mafia theme.
>>149000358
Serious tones are nice when they involve characters you give a fuck about. A flashback where the only character we know is irrelevant to the story doesn't exactly fit that criterion.
>>148995552
It comes out on fridays
today is tuesday?
>>148995552
It's fujoshit
>>149001632
This story did more to make me care about Odasaku and Dazai than the rest of the show has done so far.
>>149001553
Get ready for the character antics to come back with a vengeance.
>>148995552
Waiting on episode 17, the filler was boring so I'm glad it'll be back to normal with tiger and the cute girl
These first 4 episodes of S2 did a better job portraying the Port Mafia as an actual Mafia organization with a hierarchical power structure and place in society with lots of resources and normal people. S1's Port Mafia is just Gathering of Evil Superpower Teenagers and the Mysterious Old Boss #16726827.
>>148995552
Now there is.
>>148996215
>the only people who hate S2 so far are fanboys who actually liked the garbage in S1
Figures.
>>149003333
>the only people who like S2 so far are idiots who buy into cheap exploitation of orphan characters for "feels"
Figures
>>149003333
Your point? S1 was pretty chill and didn't take itself too seriously. Then it transitioned into something more gripping to watch towards the end.
S2 so far went full edge, which is a different pace, but it falls flat and just ends up as simple filler.
>>149003891
>cheap exploitation of orphan characters
If that's the best you can do fujoshit you'll have to try harder.
>>149004003
I can't think of any other reason why people would give half a shit about anything in this arc.
>>149003969
>S1 was pretty chill and didn't take itself too seriously. Then it transitioned into something more gripping to watch towards the end.
Good joke, all of S1 played out like your typical shounen garbage. The ending was nothing special.
>S2 so far went full edge, which is a different pace, but it falls flat and just ends up as simple filler.
Being more consistent and serious in tone doesn't make it edgy, retard. It doesn't have the out-of-place tonal shifts in S1 either. And for something that's filler, it's far more memorable than the entirety of S1.
>>149004034
Then you're just a delusional "muh source material" fanboy who doesn't think for himself and doesn't understand anything about actual direction, music, animation, or writing, all of which were far better in these 4 episodes than all of last season.
>>149003969
It does seem kind of filler since it looks like they want it to take up 4 episodes so that there's left overs for a OVAs or maybe another season. They already announced an OVA for next year.
>>148996280
>But some of us want edgy serious anime
I don't take Anime seriously in general so this second season so far has been shit for me. Glad we are getting back to comedy tho
>>148999909
>The first 4 episodes of the second season are miles better than anything in the first season
This
I didn't even want to watch S2 after S1, but these 4 episodes were pretty good.
Atsushi is a garbage MC.
>>149004224
>I don't take Anime seriously in general so this second season so far has been shit for me.
Kill yourself Kyoanus licker.
>>149004088
>Good joke, all of S1 played out like your typical shounen garbage. The ending was nothing special.
The ending was solid because it introduced a threat aside from the PM.
>Being more consistent and serious in tone doesn't make it edgy, retard.
How does it not? You just took a show that was fun to watch and took a left turn, with characters that seem forced in to give Dazai catalysts for his current behavior
>It doesn't have the out-of-place tonal shifts in S1 either.
What were the "out-of-place tonal shifts" in S1?
>And for something that's filler, it's far more memorable than the entirety of S1.
But's it's out of place and just seems like they forced it in there. I don't care about Odasaku or Ango as characters. I care about Dazai's character. He wasn't even the focus of the filler until the very end.
It'll be memorable because they'll try to shoehorn a flashback from now on instead of leaving it to the imagination of the viewer of how Dazai was in the PM.
>>149004140
I haven't touched the source material, but nice try. If the current arc actually involved characters we knew instead of trying to force me to care about the protagonist (Odasaku) by having a fucking truck full of orphans explode, you'd have a point. As it is, it's just tryhard bullshit.
>>149004140
>doesn't understand anything about actual direction, music, animation, or writing
You also don't seem to understand that it'll amount to nothing if the plot doesn't demand for it (aka, it's filler). They can spend years developing all that, but if it's shoehorned in, it's pointless.
>>148995552
/a/ only cares about waifus.
But i honestly liked the flashback episodes, i thought they were more interesting the the entire last season. Just my honest opinion on it.
But i'll continue watching for tigerboy cutie.
>>148995552
Got bored of the full on fujo pandering last season all of two eps in. Actually forgot that it exists. And I can put up with full on fujo pandering if it has decent action and a good story.
Second season was awesome and I actually thought I was getting some gungrave vibes from it.
A super power mob? Cool.
BUT it was just a prequel to the boredom of the first season so I'm not really enthused.
>ITT: Faggots who think Fate Zero is better than FSN
I'm not finding it that interesting. The first season was okay and my favorite part of it was tiger and his little waifu, both of which gave been absent so far.
Nothing much to say about it.
>>148999159
the authors barely have any connection to the actual characters too, it's the most superficial connection. it's basically a fanfic
>>149003969
>S1 was pretty chill and didn't take itself too seriously.
Which was garbage, spent episodes making guys look like hotshit and then off screening events like some poor joke with the horrible humor
>>149004546
>What were the "out-of-place tonal shifts" in S1?
The entirety of episode 4 from S1
>>149003969
>S2 so far went full edge
>drama is edge
>people unhappy? edge
>people dying? edge
>>149000536
One TV channel changed their schedule and airing this earlier on Fridays instead. Presumably CR simulcast also changed to Fridays now.
>>149003969
Being more serious in it's tone doesn't make it edgy anon. stop abusing the term.
Also, it's not a filler when its canon. The 4 episodes of backstory made me care so much more about Dazai, i'm sad it's over.
