In all honesty, only aggregator sites that really push for it can nowadays convince most anons to watch and discuss a show at the time of its airing.
If it's not the sakuga-twitter circle, reddit, MAL, ANN, Kotaku or Crunchyroll itself advertising it heavily, it's only going to be talked by few.

Eh, to be honest, I consider Regalia the weakest despite having a far higher animation quality than Matoi (although it needed an extra month to not drop to QUALITY level, and now Actas' other show Long Rider has to suffer for it). Matoi at least has Yuma as the snarky little girl.
Regalia's characters are all so dull that you don't really feel too much for them when fighting Johan.
Doesn't help that every fight so far has been "all according to keikaku". That just ruins the suspense and makes all their victories against all the four regalia gears they fought just hollow.

Flip Flappers has a lot more going for it than mere animation, unless when you say animation you're including all visual aspects of it, which is kind of what the show's presentation is built around and is unfair to divorce from the rest of the show.

Even if Flip Flappers was animated poorly, the art direction and handling of what's going on would make it still really good. Episode 3 is the only episode that relies heavily on its animation quality for visual spectacle and wouldn't work without it, I think.

Hey, I never said I didn't like Flip Flappers. It's one of my favorite shows this season. But the story is pretty low substance so far as we know. Which is fine, and it's really a completely different kind of story from this. But, I'll be honest, the comfy SOL feel of Matoi really is what makes the show for me. The enemies are pretty simplistic, but it's played well so it doesn't really feel underwhelming.

In terms of Mahou Shoujo, Flip Flappers and Shoujin Shoujo Matoi are polar opposites on the spectrum.
