I've come to appreciate ONE's webcomic art in a way I don't even think was intended for the most part.

For the kind of story ONE is telling, the imperfect and even ugly looking characters fit. Murata is an incredible artist and he has done some amazing pages for this series but everything is so perfect and clean. If a character isn't intentionally ugly, they're a flawless looking super model regardless of gender.

His Fubuki is very attractive and I'll admit I love some fanservice but One Punch Man didn't compel me because of some pretty people, and I don't think they enhance it either.

I'd be interested to see a several page mock-up of the series done by a talented artist who is known for unique character design that has flaws and imperfections.

You have to remember that Murata didn't design the characters in OPM because ONE is a writer-artist. ONE doesn't really excel in character design in that his drawing skill limits how well he can distinguish characters from each other. Murata doesn't deviate from ONE's designs unless they're really vague and it affects how visually diverse the cast is.

Another thing to consider is that Murata is a very technical artist and OPM is what, his second or third long-term project? His style will likely get looser over time.

Only problem is that the head is a bit small, but nothing major. Let's add it was clearly a gift drawing he did quickly, maybe even without a sketch beforehand.
