As someone who reads LN's, anime about LN's are horrible. They always skip a ton of details and scenes, dialog that adds to characters, or just straight up change the scenes they do show.

I will forever be mad at how fucking awful Campione turned out in anime form.

Because it's the law now. Every light novel adaptation is bad, and even when a light novel adaptation is praised people will still say that all light novel adaptations are bad. It's the same thing with isekai shows: they are ALL bad and all exactly like SAO, and even when they aren't (e.g. KonoSuba, Re:Zero, Overlord, Grimgar) people will still say they are all bad and all exactly like SAO. Also, light novel adaptations make up 90-99% of all shows even if in reality there's only a few per season. Don't look at the numbers, just keep believing.

Your typical Western anime viewer lives in a fantasy world that has nothing to do with the reality of anime. They can watch hundreds and hundreds of anime for years and years and still display a complete ignorance of anything pertaining to the topic, and blather on about completely unhinged shit that has no relevance to anything outside of their delusions. For all intents and purposes, nobody watches anime anymore. Everything they see gets filtered through a groupthink collection of memes, buzzwords, catchphrases and myths and is perceived in a completely distorted way. They may as well not watch anything.
