Abrahamic religions are almost nonexistent in Japan historically except for a few notable examples.

They use it the same way the west uses eastern imagery, for exoticism

The Church used to be cool with badass crusaders driving the infidels out of the Balkans, Southern France and all of Iberia. The Albigensian Crusade, yeah. At the time you gotta understand that the church was practically the state at that point in time. The only real reason they went after heretical sects of Christianity is that it challenged the power of the church if it got enough followers.

Judeo-Christian mythology, like almost all mythologies, is cool as fuck. Christianity in general probably looked really crazy to the Japanese when they started making contact with western society and the Jesuits and all that.
