What's the /a/ consensus on Eureka Seven?
not bad
>>148881896
It will never get a proper sequel, what a shame.
>>148881896
>expecting a consensus on anything on /a/
>>148881896
25 episodes of child abuse as fun
>>148883520
was*
First anime that really got me into anime. Will forever lose sleep at night that all we got for sequels and adaptations were dogshit. Feels really bad.
>>148881896
of course there is
it's shit
surprisingly great.
It was bad.
>>148883520
My favorite part was when he finally finds people who treat him well, and then they get shot.
>>148881896
It doesn't have a sequel, too bad.
>>148883113
I don't think I've ever seen a show that did such an impressive 180 from "barely tolerable" to "completely engrossing".
The first half of the show was almost painful to sit through, but then out of nowhere it becomes incredible in a way I really didn't expect to happen. Everything from the relationships to the action scenes become so much more impressive after that point.
Even so, I admit I've never been a fan of how a lot of the character interactions were handled. A lot of them come off as very cheesy or just ridiculous in general. The annoying levels of hazing/abuse/whatever the fuck you want to call it early on certainly don't help, either. That being said, Ray and Charles are great.
Soundtrack-wise, things are honestly perfect. I don't think I've ever seen anyone argue that. As an aside, the 3rd ED song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4emZltX42io) is one of the biggest earworms I've ever heard in my life.
One last thing I have to mention is that scene near the end with Anemone and Dominic. Never fails to get me.
All in all, if you're willing to put up with the very shaky beginning, it's a show that pays off in the long run. I'd like to find the time to watch it again one day.
Fuck Eureka's kids, though.
Holland best boy
I liked it, great ost also
Eureka is cute
Cherry blossom?
>>148881896
The only parts I remember where the Ray and Charles episodes. That's why I don't 100% regret watching it but you couldn't pay me to watch it again.
Drags a bit at points, but overall very good with a satisfying ending. It's got a fucking great OST
>>148881896
AO was better. Fleur > Eureka.
>>148886432
>>148885042
Everything of this of this show grows on you slowly, like the last OP, the first time you hear it is annoyng, but when it plays at the end of the 50th ep, well, fuck.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gZYC4usTps
Even the first episodes are better on a second rewatch, beside the first, it never get good.
>>148886402
>very good with a satisfying ending
Which was shit on in the sequel. Also known as Eureka Seven: Dewey Was Right.
>>148886565
You know it to be true.
All this sequel talk makes me want to watch the sequel.
>>148887023
Please don't.
Though the ending of the sequel literally ends up erasing itself from every happening anyway. E7 ended at episode 50. The manga, movie and sequel were all unnecessary trash that added nothing to the series. Thankfully the manga and movie are not canon and the sequel erases itself.
>>148887023
Do, it has a nice OST and hilarious consequences from the first series.
>>148886691
What sequel?
>>148887272
This one.

This still give me goosebumps

Am 30 episodes into this, and was thinking that maybe it'd get less painful to watch, but then at the start of episode 31 he does something terribly cringeworthy again that causes me to stop watching. I will probably finish it, but there are way too many terrible moments that make me stop watching for weeks. It makes "realistic characters" by focusing on nothing but the stupid and cringeworthy things they do. I wish that, at least, it'd be more balanced, instead of focusing exclusively on the moments that make you want to stop watching.

You just posted a video of pure static. What is this trying to show me?

Favorite anime of all time, favorite OST and Eureka is my waifu.

>What's the /a/ consensus on Eureka Seven?
Fun series, too bad they never made a sequel.
Probably the best OST in anime, anime could be shorter
>>148887272
don't watch it
>>148887023
I liked the sequel's first 13 or so episodes, but around the time where Truth comes in things get convoluded.
I thought the ending episodes were alright, but the way it wrapped things up was way more bitter sweet than the original series. It went out of its way to screw over the MC and leave him stranded on a planet where he'd eventually die
>>148881896
'sgood. The last few episodes were kinda 'eh. The Devilfish is a highly underrated 'mech.
>>148881896
Really cool in a lot of ways and a bloody spectacular soundtrack. It takes a while to get going, but those times when it hits the high notes makes it all worth it.
It includesthe best love story ever told.
>>148888480
But Toradora isn't in E7.
>>148881896
The parts where Eureka turned ugly was hard to go through.
>>148888480
This
I actually think it can't be topped.
>>148886677
The first episode is great, numbersman. You have to think of it at a part of the bigger picture, Renton changed from only caring and having fun to having a real love for all of creation.
>>148888672
The series peaked in the 3rd cour, though.
>>148886677
The entire ending sequence in the last episode is fucking orgasmic.

>>148881896now that you mention it, i can see eureka in eleven from strangers thingcome on, you can't blame me from watching 3DPD TVs, anime has been shit lately and you know it
I just rewatched this last month, I want to again.
YOU GOTTA REMEMBER
>>148890040
worst OP
>>148881896
Starts strong and fizzles out, like every other Bones show.
>>148890165
>fizzles out
The last cour was perfect.
>>148890165
>Starts strong
quite the opposite
>>148890165
>fizzles out
>>148881896
It's pretty great.
>>148881896
I didn't like it.
>>148890165
The beggining was actually really boring.
The episode with Anemone's monologue was 10/10.
>>148885042
He states it really well.
While I'm sure thatmy age at the time of watchingEureka Seven greatly influenced my opinion on this show, it has had a lasting influence on me, and I've re-watched it countless times.
I really enjoyed the first part, especially the first 10 episodes. The setting and characters really hooked me.
I could go on forever about how I love Eureka Seven.
If you get through the middle part, it is a really great story. Think of it like growing pains.
If nothing else, I listen to multiple songs from the soundtrack daily while doing some boarding of my own. It's magical.Shounen Heart is started playing on r/a/dio while I was writing this
This song was the only good thing that came from Ao.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbwrkPv3Vfk
>>148895759
Ao had lots of great music, the second ED actually made me tear up a bit when it played at the show's finale.
Was pretty good. Boring on the early episodes but got good half-way. Sequel was okay but the finale just gave me this raging anger because of the unfinished feeling.
I should have stopped after watching Eureka Seven finale.
>>148881896I got really upset when that guy who briefly adopted renton blew up
I liked the episode where the Gekko crew pranked Renton.
>>148887023
Don't.
