If it is the same FlCL style it might be good. But women being so different than men trying to apply the childhood crush idea might not work out so well. And generally girls becoming women is a very different process than boys becoming men. FLCL as I recall did really well in the U.S I am not sure about how the Nips recieved it, that being said with the current pop culture climate in the U.S we might end up with a very SJW-ish empowerment anime (even though KLK already did that.) Chance of new FLCL seem slim.

KLK had an underlying tone of accepting oneself for who you are, which is a great sentiment that KLK did very well, but the fanbase for KLK went ape shit with it especially tumblr. KLK is one of my favourite animus but the amount of cringy shit as a result rustled my jimmies a bit.
