Why is Goku as a kid much more likable as an MC than Goku as an adult? You can understand his naivety and ignorance displayed in DB but somehow its like he gets more retarded as he gets older.

He also becomes a bizarrely adverse to actually taking out threats in a practical manner as he gets older, refusing to kill his enemies no matter the circumstances.
I mean look at him in Dragonball, when Krillin was murdered by Tambourine Goku showed no mercy, and in the battle against King Piccolo there was no "Man you are such a great fighter, imma spare your life so we can spar again".
He even outright destroyed Commander Black in his battle jacket.

Also Toriyama removing tails for all saiyan characters is just outright laziness right? So he could just draw them as regular humans without putting in the extra effort?

The DB/Z anime has filler and introduces a few plot holes, even more if you watch it dubbed which I don't recommend. The only plothole in the manga is #17 knowing Goku's voice when they've never met.

The manga is quick to the point and super fun to read, the anime takes too long and stretches out a lot of the fights.

I'd bet because as a kid his drive to fight and naivete in that pursuit was lovable, as he was a child who only really ever knew that.
He was a scrappy tyke, who happened to be a super-powerful descendant of a Warrior race – but he wasn't a giga-OP planet-smasher.
As an adult, he retains that naivete despite the fact that he IS a giga-OP planet-smasher going up against other giga-OP planet-smashers. He really should have srs'd up, but his point-blank retardation goes from lovable to "shit nigga just get angry".
This is why Freiza's death is my favourite scene in the show: Goku matures more in that one scene than he ever has anywhere else.
He sees Freiza defeated, clinging to life, clings to the last vestiges of hope he has for him, spares him a little energy that MAY get him off the planet, and then puts him down for good with no mercy the instant his last act of kindness was spit on.

I think that might actually be one of the best movies, since it had more plot than 'Here is new foe that is super strong, watch Goku pull something out of his ass to beat him'.

Dragonball Fusions looks like a really amusing game.

It has a decent looking character creator with a lot lot variety, and the gimmick of basically being able to fuse ANYONE to get hundreds of new forms/characters.
Plus the general thing I like in DB videogames where you can take your favorite characters like the Earthlings Z-fighters or Nail-etc and actually use them in your party.
