(Shinobu-centric) Things that Ougi Dark hints at:

-Shinobu and Araragi's soul bond has been pretty massively overstated throughout the series. When it gets severed the only noticeable change in Shinobu was that she acts slightly less childlike. Other than that, their relationship and personalities are exactly the same and Shinobu is able to read Araragi's thoughts/emotions just as well.

-In order to achieve this, Shinobu had to have spent a huge amount of time and effort trying to understand Araragi and be a good partner for him.

-After saying goodbye to Seishirou, Shinobu sat down and had a real hard think about what she wants and how she should treat Araragi. This encounter with Gaen, she sticks up for Araragi boldly, selflessly, and with no hesitation whatsoever, unlike the last time when she was caught off-guard and indecisive.

I liked it, it's not perfect but honestly translating Monogataris without ending up with a huge TL notes section at the end would be pretty much impossible.

All in all it's well done.

Why are Vertical splitting Bakemonogatari into three parts? The only reason I can think of is getting more sheckles but I would love to read an 800 paged Monogatari novel.

Since it's 5 stories it's possible to split them up like that, and if publisher wisdom says it would make more money then that's a legitimate reason to do it. I can kind of imagine people are generally more willing to buy 3 cheaper books than 2 with the same pages collectively, even if the total price is higher.
