Heavy spoilers.
Mercurius is the current owner of throne and god of the universe and he wants his waifu Marie to become the new goddess so he starts an opera of epic proportions, befriends the leader of the gestapo, Reinhard Heydrich (his apoptosis, the only one who can kill him because of meta reasons), and gives holy relics to a bunch of Nazi soldiers, 2 psychopaths, a witch and a priest.
60 years later they start a ritual to supposedly fulfill Reinhard's dream of destroying everyone (because he loves everyone) but Mercurius created Ren (the MC) and made it so that with the help of Marie, a senpai and a childhood friend, they'd all fight Reinhard and his soldiers to achieve his goal of giving the throne to his waifu.

As for Hajun, he doesn't appear in Dies Irae. He only appears in Kajiri Kamui Kagura.
