Enkidu works best against gods or beings with high divinity Saber is not one of those thus its not going to be as effective. Also Gil is a sadist/narcissist, Saber needs to submit to him for him to be happy, which wont happen.

Enkidu is specifically Anti-Divine. It is powerful in proportion to the opponent's Divinity.

There's no paradox. Archer isn't even in the timeline where Shirou becomes a CG. Even if Archer was, the timeline would simply split off into another branch.

Archer's past is set and essentially unchangeable. There's nothing he can do to affect his contract with the world.

Even when completely outmatched by a full-power Saber in UBW, and extremely low on energy, he simply activated UBW and was about to ruin her shit before Shirou intervened.

Even if he didn't intend to, Archer is the key for Shirou to survive all 3 routes.

In Fate, he gave Shirou a hint that let him understand how tracing really worked, which allowed him to project Caliburn and Avalon. In addition, him killing Berserker 6 times let Saber one shot Berserker with Caliburn.

In UBW, he gave Shirou his entire sword database, perfected fighting style, and a jumpstart on accessing his Reality Marble, the thing needed for him to defeat Gilgamesh.

In HF, he gave Shirou his arm, saving his life as well as giving him the tool he needed to defeat his enemies and save Sakura

Actually, in Fate Archer's whole philosophy is inverted. The archery speech he preaches is basically the exact opposite of what Archer practices in UBW.

I think in both routes Archer's subconscious is compels him to talk and act certain ways, and he justifies it after the fact with whatever seems logical. Which isn't strange, we see Shirou do this all the time. Naturally the habit would carry over.

HF is probably the closest to what Archer's "base" personality is.

Shirou’s last words to Kirei are pretty much identical to what Kirei says he’s going to do to Shirou’s dad, Kiritsugu, in Fate Zero. I wonder if this was intentional? Most likely.

Kirei decides in Zero that his role is to crush the Holy Grail, and in turn, crush Kiritsugu’s dream. And then he actually comes into contact with Grail and realizes it’s the only thing in the world he actually wants for himself. Having discovered his true calling as the villain, the man who spreads destruction and suffering. And the Grail being the ultimate tool to fulfill that wish. Then at the end of Heaven’s Feel, just like in Zero, it ends with Kirei and an Emiya, fighting to the death as the Holy Grail begins to overflow right next to them. The difference is here, the roles are switched. It’s Kirei’s wish to obtain the grail, and Shirou who ultimately decides he’s going to mercilessly destroy it, having discovered his true calling as the hero, the man who beats the bad guy, and saves the world from destruction. And the Grail being the weapon of mass destruction that needs to be thwarted.

I love all the parallels and juxtapositions you can make in the Fate series. Especially the warped dynamic between Shirou and Kirei.

Haven't played extra yet, but from what I've seen and heard it's lightly(?) implied that the Archer you get has somehow been affected by the events of FSN.

I think that's partly so Archer's death in UBW isn't so soul crushingly depressing. He finds peace at the very end, only to return to wherever CG's are stored and lose all memory of it. Extra gives us the hope that achieving that peace wasn't totally in vain.

I think, I'm reading that link, but it'll take me a while to find the quote someone showed me that made be believe that.
