I watched all three seasons of this recently and loved it. There was one thing that bothered the fuck out of me though.

During one of the early episodes of season 1, the one where they're stuck out in the forest with Gauron hunting them down in his super mech, there's like 5 or more panty shots of Chidori as she falls all over the place.

There are pretty much absolutely none before or after that. What the hell was up with that? I'm more confused than aroused or irritated.

Yeah, Gonzo's take was rather gratuitous on panty shots and the action scenes felt slow

Its not KyoAni because its hand drawn mecha.

KyoAni doesnt do that because they have best 3d resources aside from Sanzigen, and already perfected their 3D mecha animation to look better than 2d shit, as shown by Depth of Field OAVs.

They have only a limited amount of episodes to do the END of the story. So that means massive condensation and Gatoh working overtime re-writing the damn thing. But at least the creator is running the show so he would know what needed to be cut.
