This is late but I figure I might as well put this out there using these posts. When people say they wanted a batman clone they have no idea what they're asking for. Batman is a grown ass man and billionaire who deals with "street level" crime away from Superman's turf. He's also in a setting where super individuals aren't the norm or at least aren't treated as such whereas almost everyone has powers in BnHA.

Izuku has none of that. He can't even be a vigilante unless he plans to fight other heroes to avoid arrest. It would have been asspull after asspull and he'd need Joseph Joestar charisma to make the readers buy it at all. Also it's not even the most broken quirk on paper. It's just really good. It was All Might himself that was broken. That anon was wrong though. It's not an underdog story even if he started from the bottom. It's a journey to become a person big enough to fill the massive shoes All Might left behind. Which makes the "lol just got a broken quirk" posts also wrong. It doesn't mean anything if he can't fulfill that potential whatsoever. Being quirkless was merely there so that he wouldn't have a second power to distract him and so that he had no experience using a quirk of any kind.
