Rest in piece, Nemurin.
>Fav selects girls that are suitable to become magical girls
>chooses a NEET that sleeps all day
>gives candies in dreams but not in the real world
for what dark purpose
Oh god I just thought if they pull some bullshit like Akuma no Riddle where no one dies and its all a trick I'll be so fucking mad.
Wow! When you stop being a magical girl you die??? Who would have guessed??
Would have been more interesting if they're actually okay when they stop being a magical girl, but one of them (totally not Calamity Mary) starts killing off one girl a week (which pon guy would accept as the weekly loss regardless of candy).
Of course, it's obvious they're still going to do that, but it won't feel as "edgy" since someone was going to die anyway.
Anyway, I'm guessing dog girl dies next, then Calamity Mary starts her killing spree.
Or alternatively, the leader of the group saw that Nemurin dies, and then they start the killing spree to save dog girl.
I'm hoping/thinking nemurin is not actually dead, it would make sense she would be in a coma or incapacitated to demonstrate they lose their memories when they're no longer magical girls
How is this copying Madoka other than the fact that it's a magical girl anime and also dark?
He does not understand what influencing it is so he just said they are copying it. They are not copying it but the author probably got the idea for the novels after watching Madoka.
>Opens with a "despair" scene where everyone but Not Madoka is dead
>Not Kyubey tells her to be a magical girl
>Magical girl that was a good friend of trhe MC gets killed
Depending on if there's any actual motivation for play or whatever his name is or it's just shits and giggles i might continue watching
>Opens with a "despair" scene where everyone but Not Madoka is dead
Foreshadowing opening scenes are not exclusive to Madoka.
>Not Kyubey tells her to be a magical girl
The same way all mascot characters tell the MC to become a magical girl in every magical girl series ever made?
>Magical girl that was a good friend of the MC gets killed
Once again, a close friend of the MC dying isn't something exclusive to Madoka.
They aren't exclusive traits to madoka but they are all in madoka, in more or less the same order as in this.
$10 says the smoke monster is the soul/memory/whatever of dead magical girls.
You don't seem to understand how this works.
>best girl just died
>everyone is still paying attention to the tranny
I'm just about done mourning, and am now in the process of transferring my hopes and dreams to Top Speedo
Please stand by
So, this is going to be one of "those" rides. Guess I better buckle up.
>The land can only support a limited number of magical girls at one time
>Clearly the best solution is make as many magical girls as possible and then kill off the excess instead of just sticking to a quota like any sane being would!
I'm assuming the thing's just an edgy little shit for no reason.
>This is a light novel series
>There have been 8 volumes so far
Really? They haven't killed 8 girls in 8 volumes?
I can understand the mascot making a mistake, what I don't like is killing the characters, because there doesn't seem to be a reason.
Yes yes, we shouldn't know asap, but if you make a survival anime the motivations should be important.
I have said this in every damn thread for this show I've been in but it bears constant repeating that the eyes in this show are gorgeous.
The thick outlines for the irises and use of slit pupils on half the cast is just what my dick needs.
You're just as gullible as some of the girls in the show. It's obvious that thing has some awful ulterior motive for doing that.
Killing almost the entire group and bring a new one for the next volume would mean more than a hundred dead girls in 8 volumes, how come nobody in the city nor the authorities notice more than 100 girls dropping dead for no apparent reason in a short span of time?
Now unbound by time or space, she will fly from dream to dream, spreading good cheer wherever she goes. She may even visit you one night.
Am I the only one that likes Ripple?
I do like her tchs though
I kind of like how she is. It fits her ninja persona well.
I thought she was going to died first since they showed their character card and part of her backstory pretty early.
Seeing as she didn't die, I guess she'll survive the competition.
I cant into advance video, anyone can change this >>148429113 into webm?
The amount of ruined potential in this show just because it wanted to be another forgettable Madoka clone instead is unbelievable.
I was afraid this was gonna be a crap Madoka ripoff, Japan did not disappoint.
Would have been much better if the girls who stopped being mahou shoujo grew from the experience and were able to look back on it as a formative experience of their lives.
Maybe they would be able to help the mahou shoujos in unexpected ways, like calamity mary gets defeated and becomes a badass 2 fisted cop, or Nemurin becomes a massage therapist and gives the other girls relaxing rubdowns
Y'know the ol' mahou shoujo as puberty and learning experience on the path to maturity thing.
Maybe have a quick scene in the end where the girls (and boy) are christmas cakes reminiscing about the crazy stuff that happening and we see a passing school girl is playing a certain familiar SNS game...
But no, instead they decided to just shit out an insultingly derivative Madoka ripoff.
I hate people that betray. Just say you were never on their side to begin with.
That girl Nemurin interacted with in the last dream she visited was SwimSwim.
SwimSwim looked up and admired Ruler as a princess until Nemurin convinces her in that dream that she can be the princess herself.
So SwimSwim being a kid takes this to heart and begins to backstack, lie, murder and backstab everyone in order to accomplish her goal.
She ends up being the true final boss and the one with the highest kill count before Ripple finally kills her.
Next episode you'll see SwimSwim backstab Ruler and kill her off already.
She'll also kill Cranberry and TopSpeed (who is also pregnant in reality).
Nemurin's instigation is what caused SwimSwim to tip over and start the mass slaughter, though the entire process was already intended to go down that track since Cranberry who is this group's observer is already completely mindfucked because she saw a monster kill all her friends (first scene on the 1st episode) and Fav basically got bored of the entire deal and said fuck it, instead of deleting just the memories it will be more fun to delete your lives.
Not with that attitude
I'm still gonna watch it, it's not terrible and the designs are neat, it's just I CAN ALREADY SEE THE ENDING is a crappy feeling in real life.
I watched the first season of SAO even tho it started the whole Isekai trend which I hate.
I mostly watch for good animation and have a hard time dropping series.
Here's a pastebin with all the spoilers on what the Anime will cover for those who are interested:
It's quite the shame this is a LN adaptation because the story is really good and /a/ would go nuts every week with speculation.
>It's quite the shame this is a LN adaptation
Definitely this. Discussion would have been exceptional if this was an original, especially since the threads already seem to have a good number of people watching. Probably thanks to Lu Pucelle.
Well, hopefully that gets a notable reaction.
Well, the opening kinda gives it away, because there's some pander between Ripple and Snow White.
They never interacted with each other so far, yet, in the opening, they are reaching for each other's hands, even though their actual partners are LaPu and Top Speed.
No clue, all the spoilers I know are from the pastebin.
Occasionally there have been people in these threads that have read the LN though.
They said that Snow White later on becomes a rogue magical girl hunter because of all the events we will see happen.
It's hard to imagine her as a hardened magical girl after those spoilers.
Eagerly awaiting the third and fifth weeks.
The finale too.
gets completely mindbroken to the point of wandering the streets but then she gets her resolve back, takes up SwimSwim's spear and decides to hunt any other rogue Magical Girls in order to maintain peace and justice.
Even if I know what's going to happen, it doesn't bother me as long as the ride is entertaining. Once you've seen so many series, it's more about execution than how fresh the idea is (or how formulaic the story is).
I know how you feel. Top Speed is like the only thing keeping Ripple from going full edgelord.
She is beautiful.
Actually, the most feminine girl out of the bunch.
All the girls abilities:
Snow White: Can hear the inner voices of troubled people.
Ripple: Flawless, perfect aim with anything 'projectile' weaponry basedor thrown. (Like that guy from Sunday with God)
Calamity Mary: Can power and/or 'level up' any weapon she uses.
Lura: Can give 'inviolable' orders to any opponent she sees (like Lelouch or that girl from Troublemakers)
Tama (whose real name is Inubouzaki like the sisters from Yuuki Yuuna): Can open up holes in various surfaces/objects almost instantly.
Nemurin: Can enter the worlds in others' dreams and control like a god. (Death13)
Top Speed: Can fly through the sky at high speed, rides a broom.
Hardcore Alice: Wolverine regen healing.
La Pucelle: Can control the size of her sword.
Swimswim: Can swim through any surface like water.
Craberry, the Musician of the Forest: Can control people through music.
Minael: Can transform into anything non-living.
Yunael (Minael's sister): Can transform into any living thing.
Bess Winterprison: Can create walls out of nowhere.
Sister Nana: Can bring out the maximum power of people she likes.
Magicaroid44: Can pull out a single useful supertool from the future from a backpack she wears (obvious Doraemon parody).
And a look at some of the girls themselves.
This is because boys make the best girls. They know exactly how to look and act to be most attractive to males. So when he thought of his ideal and most cute Magical Girl Boipucelle is what he came up with. So of course she is the most beautiful to males.
Small correction there, Snow White can hear the thoughts of anyone, giving her the ability to find out their opponent's weakness.
Lura is obviously supposed to be Ruler.
And Cranberry can control sound, not people through music, just sound.
>Swimswim got the short end of the stick.
How so? She can swim through any surface, like walls or concrete floor.
Imagine if she just jumps out beneath you while you're walking in the street and she stabs you in the heart.
Just like she will do with Top Speed.
fav does it for the LULZ
>Not wanting to know you're getting led into shit beforehand
Nah, I think getting spoilered for some shit is good. Honestly if they just lost memories it'd seem fine (which was supposed to be apparently).
this show was so predictable
I'm honestly disappointed with how flaccid the first death was, absolutely no Mami-level shit there.
I just hope the eventual death and character dev of Tranny-kun makes it worth it. She's already pretty well written.
One of these days, a show will pull off the twist that the MC's "normal" mother is actually a retired magical girl, proving that there is hope for the future.
You can be dark without being grimdark.
Of course it'll be hard to sell that twist because magical girls are now required to be lesbians.
I don't know about that anon. The power to manipulate people's dreams is an incredibly strong ability depending on its use. People have little to no control over their dreams, yet are highly influenced by them.
That`s like saying something is Platonic as opposed to Socratic.
There`s little to no dichotomy to draw there as one engaged so completely with the work of the other, very little of what the produced can be completely divorced from their mentor.
You know, I'm still mad that they killed Nemurin that I will just spoil myself.
Post your reaction after you read that
I don't like how the girls don't seem to be given any hints at how being a magical girl could be a bad thing. The stupid mascot just asks, "You wanna be a magical girl?" At least in something like Madoka the girls could infer that since they're gaining a wish they'll have to give something up in return. There's literally no reason to infer that you'd be killed for being a magical girl in this show.
>I can't stand TCH
>saw her on Opening
>I will like to see more of her
>episode focus on her
>Oh boy this is great
>she doesnt have candy on RL
>oh fuck please no
Also, by first chapter, I thought this was going to be a battle royal, but if the girls dont know each other in their normal form how are they going to know they die if they lose their powers and start the killing each other?
I just want to say thanks to all the spoilerfags for actually using the spoiler tags and to all the people replying to them for not messing up and spilling the beans. Ya'll cool people.
If you die as a magical girl and then you die for real.
Therefor, just hunt down a magical girl and kill her on the spot.
But on a example, one of them gets their real identity discovered and then proceeds to murder the one who discovered it just for that.
Heartcatch Precure has a granny who used to be a mahou shoujo but retired. And it's the same show where a magical girl gets her transforming device destroyed, her fairy murdered, her father
, and she eventually ends up
murdering the only sister she never knew she had. It doesn't help that her mother ends up never remarrying and ends up as a lonely single parent.
She still has her fairy (and it's fucking huge) though so it really isn't a twist.
>best grill dies
Top Speed will die. But her soul will choose to go back in time, the time when she was happiest, and she will be at season 1 first episode. Anon who loves Top Speed wants to be with her too and wants to be in a time when Top Speed'd love her, but since she already loves DICKS she'll go back in time before Anon is born, and become his mother.
>dream candies don't count
If only she chose the right dreamers to save. Maybe she could've saved lives too.
He should hurry up and fuck the ever-loving shit out of Snow White already.
>It's obvious that thing has some awful ulterior motive for doing that.
I could've swore it was spoiled that normally,
they don't actually die they just lose their powers and memories of being mahou shoujo, but this time it's a special case because mono-tadpole-bey is just a fucking sadistic motherfucker and made it more extreme this time around.
I like her voice most, it's very stupid sounding but comfy. Kinda like some other guy I know.
I think the word or phrase that anon looks for is "appeals to the same audience" or as /a/ meme - "we want the madoka audience".
The similarities are kinda striking so far, though I also see a touch of MaiHime here.
Others like me are just pissed they killed Nemurin off so quickly because I really really liked her design and wanted to invest some interest or at least get some actual influence to the MCs out of her.
Instead we got "she's cute and heals the soul. Yeah.".
I'll take my Nemurin and leave this series.
The execution will be godawful and I will want to drop it every week.
Except /a/ holds up the stream of Nemurin coming.
Don't worry anon, Nemurin is dreaming with the dreamers, now.
>This happens the day before I stop being a NEET
Words cannot describe how mad I am.
>we want the madoka audience
You mean the Danganronpa audience?
>each participant has a unique "talent"
>someone dies early to demonstrate the seriousness of the killing game
>animated by the official Danganronpa studio and even has Danganronpa VAs
>Y'know the ol' mahou shoujo as puberty and learning experience on the path to maturity thing
You know these shows aren't meant for little girls right? They air at midnight and are focused on the otaku crowd which gives no fucks about female puberty.
Pleiades touched those topics and all prople care about it were the cute girls, the space stuff and Subaru being alpha.
If you want classical girl focused stuff go watch Precure.
>If you want classical girl focused stuff go watch Precure.
I liked how they talked about being elegant, beautiful, and kind while punching (giant) monsters in the face. There's a certain beauty in elegance in the face of adversity, I guess.
If he looked this good in makeup, I would be a dick to tell him no.
