Name one SJ series that actually had a "good" ending
Yu-gi-oh DM probably had one of the best conclusive endings out there.
Pretty much all plot points resolved, it didn't feel rushed, MC won in a non BS way showing his own development and that he didn't need Atem holding his hand anymore and it. Properly. Ended.
Naruto's ending was fine, even if it was nosediving the last two arcs. It wrapped up in a really satisfying way.
Especially in comparison to what happened to Bleach. What a nightmare.
I've unironically like the entirety of the Bolge arc of Hokuto no Ken. Shame it never got adapted for the anime.
All of the Gintama characters stop fighting and decide to destroy the Bleach universe before the live action movies get made. Get ready for the Bleach movies to be canceled
if they haven't already
How was yugi finally standing on his own and Atem getting his final rest shit?
If you're talking about the orichaocos shit I agree.
YYH was rushed? Could have fooled me.
This, I expected them to pussy out on stuff but I was glad to see they went through with everything.
Also really liked where the mc ended up. I didn't expect something like that at all and it was great.
Naruto's ending was satisfying even if all the nonsense that happened before it was incomprehensible garbage.
AssClass wrapped everything up nicely.
Ruroni Kenshin was jump too, wasn't it?
nigga, this end was fucking awful. Came out of fucking nowhere and the last arc was total shit. Such a shame too since everything else was great.
Kasai is still alive and is rebuilding
There was a question mark at the end of the series
Ending chapter was great but ending arc was disappointing. Felt very half assed. Shouldn't have bothered with the other games where they just stomped and focused more on the american game.
Beelzebub's final arc was rushed, but it felt like it was ending for a long time. Giving the Touhoshinki zebub emblems was a big fucking hint. For all its rushing, the actual final chapter was pretty comfy.
It was a good open ending. The main plot got resolved, but it had a few questions remaining that made it realistic. Not everything needs to be resolved and tied with a bow at the end.
What ? They were both being rushed into cancellation and it showed in their endings.
>The manga was called Dragon Ball from the beginning to the end of the Majin Buu saga
He's probably an EOP who only knows about Dragon Ball from Viz's English edition, since they split the series into two like in the anime.
Came here to post this as well. Now if only we'd get an anime remake.
>Boring final boss fight
>In fact everything about the final boss and Korosensei's past was lame as fuck
>Sappy as fuck death sequence
>Generic Harry Potter esque everyone's grown up ending
AssClass was toothless till the very end. I'm not sad to see it go. As to why such a safe series was so popular your guess is as good as mind.
>Also really liked where the mc ended up. I didn't expect something like that at all and it was great.
Are you fucking stupid? They laid it on thick that Nagisa was going to be a fucking teacher like Korosensei throughout the fucking manga.
>fucking Harry Potter invented everyone's grown up ending
Yes this is my favorite part of /a/, the "AssClass is the worst SJ manga ever" part
I can't wait until a decade from now when it's considered a "hidden gem"
>Only Japs give a shit about AssClass
>still trying to push it as something special when threads were dead as fuck
Keep trying. Maybe someone will agree that AssClass was good.
>I can't wait until a decade from now when it's considered a "hidden gem"
Just like Toriko right?
Well, Toriko actually has redeemable factors, plus it has /a/'s favorite form of entertainment, "trainwreck", in the form of rushed as fuck pacing and increasing power levels on top of it.
>Yeah that's why they brought the creator to New York Comic Con two days ago.
You do realize that fucking Kazue Katō was at Anime Expo this year right? And we all know how much people give a shit about Ao no Exorcist
How many series with female protagonists or at least co-protagonists have there been in Jump?
>that shitty lewd super-hero manga that was basically just lame OPM
Yeah I guess Viz also forces people to retweet and buy tickets to see her, right?
Matsui also visted a Taiwan convention, which unless my geography fails me, is outside of Japan.
Move those goalposts harder, though.
>Yeah I guess Viz also forces people to retweet and buy tickets to see her, right?
Considering that Viz Panel with her was less packed the the OPM dub premiere one? Man you are grasping for straws
Wow...its fucking nothing. Are you going to use Malaysia next? For an international popular series like AssClass you sure are scrapping to the bottom of the barrel.
YOU are the one who claimed AssClass was "only popular in Japan", I'm only proving you wrong.
>bring up other countries
>they magically don't matter
I honestly don't see the point since you're just gonna move the goalpost again.
>YOU are the one who claimed AssClass was "only popular in Japan
And it is. Considering your only "evidence" is that he was invited to attend panels I don't think you have a leg to stand on.
AssClass tried to create a sentimental end, but since the characters are totally forgettable, it did not work. It is a classic example that having an original idea is no guarantee of a good story.
I'm still conflicted on whether Slam Dunk's ending is good or not. That last game was amazing and obviously Sakuragi wouldn't be able to play much more right afterwards, but it sucks that they didn't play against Kainan one more time for revenge before playing against Sannoh. That just seems like missed potential.
>The second season of the anime's funds mainly came from Chinese streaming.
Except Chinese streaming is said to be the cause in rise in anime revenue last year not just AssClass.
>You can feel free to check how many volumes have been on the New York Times bestseller list.
One. Then drop off after that. Ain't no OPM being on the list for 50 weeks straight
AssClass had too many characters and never managed to develop most of them well enough to get you to care about them. I know people often hate "filler" chapters, but the series really need several more to develop the cast better consider how large it was.
>not just AssClass
Yet AssClass was still there and used as the main example, faggot.
Does that change the fact that it has fans elsewhere?
>when multiple volumes have sold
>Ain't no OPM being on the list for 50 weeks straight
>if you don't sell One Punch Numbers you don't sell at all
Jesus you really are retarded
>Yet AssClass was still there and used as the main example, faggot.
Because it was cheap to make. Its streaming numbers weren't even the highest from last year
>when multiple volumes have sold
Toriko has had multiple volumes and never make the list.
>>if you don't sell One Punch Numbers you don't sell at all
Pretty much. So much for popularity
A better question is which SJ series didn't have a shitty final arc?
I think he had enough chapters. There are series like Gintama or Sket Dance with a large ensemble cast, in which about 50 chapters I already like a lot of characters. The difference is that these authors had pleasure playing in deep shit. Matsui was too safe. And when nothing happens, nobody cares.
You didn't support his last series or this one, so I don't know why you think any of your criticisms are valid or matter
Reminder that fujos, dumb school kids, Matsui's family, and me have still done more to support the shit they like than a neck beard behind a screen has done in their entire life
It had one plot which was (arguable) dropped, but it wrapped everything else nicely. Compared to other manga which were mentioned in this thread, Claymore's ending was much more satisfactory.
If you mean the movie, then maybe in concept it did, but the acting (Light's at least) and setting was so terrible I was just laughing my ass off. The manga ending is pretty much 10/10 in my book.
