It's already kind of swinging that way. Modern anime fans and /a/ love their shit and they can never remember a time when things used to be at least moderately better in the anime scene from a story telling standpoint. Guilty Crown and a couple other things kind of marked the end of storytelling as a factor in original anime and their transformation into mostly overhyped Sawano music videos with ultra shitty characters and nonsensical attempts at ongoing plot lines. Thank Christ for Gundam the Origin and Yamato just barely keeping sci-fi anime alive through Aniplex's shit fests and what I swear looks like a deliberate attempt to make the genre unworkable for anybody.
