For those who are interested, Drifters is basically historical characters getting Isekai'd into high fantasy world with elves, dwarves, and dragons.

The "good" guys got Isekai'd just as is, they're the Drifters. The "bad" guys got Isekai'd after being horribly murdered in their past lives, they lost their minds, become berserk and called the Ends. The Ends gain superpower while the Drifters don't. War and hijinks ensue as the good guys try to beat Jesus, king of the Ends.

I love that whole period of Japanese history. Hell, Japanese history in general has a lot of really interesting and dramatic.

Which is why it has always struck me as strange that whenever the Japanese translate it into entertainment media, 99% of the time they add a bunch of supernatural stuff, have the characters be superhumans, or transform all the grizzled warriors into hot chicks.

Not that I don't watch that stuff, but it wouldn't hurt to have an authentic historical anime once in a while. Saraiya Goyou is the most recent thing I know that comes close.

I find it funny that they chose Toyohisa to be the MC when he's relatively obscure as a samurai and has a minor role in the whole Sengoku period. Then again, it would be boring seeing another iteration of Yukimura (who was already 48 when he charged to his death anyway).
