He has to be able to carry his equipment. More powerful explosives mean that he can use the same weight to more effect. Using inferior product gives him a disadvantage.

This is not an RPG where you have 50 inventory slots and no weight limitation.

Neither can Hand Axe. Most of the stuff it is used for C4 can basically do the same job.
I think the best use of it on an object was where it was stuck on top of a sensor to offset some readings which anything else could have been used.

Because they are screwing up the "clean war" principle is the official reason. Though another reason is that It isn't meant to be possible to take out an object without using an object yourself but they proved it possible (no idea why it took so long to happen) and so people got pissed that a bunch of idiots manged to blow up multi billion dollar objects by themselves.
It also encourages other groups and terrorists groups to try it themselves.

Because first-gen Objects were all full of anti-personnel weapons. No one could even get close to it.
After a while no one even bothered trying anymore and they made second gen objects all fully specialized to fight against other Objects, barely bothering with anti-personnel because no one would even try.

Even the second gen objects are deadly and have secondary cannons that kill infantry really well. Not that it really matters as with all the targeting assistance an object has it can easily snipe someone off even if it isn't specialised. They empathise that every novel afterall.
They only ever really survive out of plot armour as they would have died dozens of times over by now without it.

They generally survive because they have a friendly Object keeping the enemy Object occupied, the only exceptions after the first one I think were the Broad Sky Saber, the Son of a Bitch, and to a lesser extent the Simple is Best. Two of those weren't piloted by actual elites who could use the Object properly and the third was on a one-way course straight towards the BM. Barring that even when targeted there's usually something else at play beyond pure plot armor keeping them alive.
