The implication is that since:

animation -> アニメ -> anime

You could argue one of two things: that loanwords are treated as the words on their original language, or that loanwords are treated as the rest of the words. Either way anime ends up being treated as an english word. I apologize for not typing this explicitly when I checkmated you, it's just that I overestimated your intelligence; you can't blame me for not knowing that I was arguing with people with the intellects of beasts that would be incapable of thinking logically about more than what was written.

"Animé" used there is an adjective, meaning animated. Anime as we use it now is a noun.

Since it's an adjective you could use "animés" for the plural, "animée" for the feminine version of the word, and "animées" for the feminine plural version.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I think /a/ as a whole should start referring to shoujo manga as animees instead of animes.
