I dont get this meme. Yuri on Ice is objectively the best animated and directed show this season so far. It likely to drop in production quality, but it still can contest for anime of the YEAR title.

The story seems good, the ice scating theme very popular, animation superb, characters interesting. The "gay" thing is played as a joke and while attracts fujoshi, doesnt make show worse.

Its really phenomenal work, one of a kind. Trying to scare people away by calling it "gay" is futile, because its BIG: big enougth that everyone will notice it and watch regardless.

Occultic;Nine was great. Looking forward to the rest of it way more than anything else this season. Kind of annoyed by the character design -- well, just the titty monster -- but really digging the fast pace and overall style. Feels a lot like it's influenced by Persona. Production value is miles ahead of anything new this month, too.

Hibike looked good but more of the same. Pleasant enough.

Keijo was entertaining just for how stupid it is. Gotta be the dumbest premise in a while, you couldn't make up something sillier.

Everything else is hot garbage, including the new OP for JoJo. That show gets more QUALITY each week, it's unbelievable.

Written by the Steins;Gate guy, so I think it will be good. There were an awful lot of characters introduced in a short time -- the rest of the season will fill in all the mysteries that were brought in this one episode. Everything is going to be connected: the scalp/head in the mailbox, the murdered professor, online occult activity, etc. Like I said, I think it's got a cool Persona vibe.

Big boob/ditzy characters are lame, but overall writing was high for one episode. We'll see.

its VERY well animated and well directed, though this quality might be limited to only first episode and might drop later - though theres hope it maintains, seeing its big media project akin to LL.

The reasons its appreciateed though is that its written by YahariOre writer, and characters are pretty fun and it gives bit "realistic" insight in Seiyuu industry akin to how WUG did with idols - i.e. Seiyuu are 3dpd bitchy sleeping with producers cunts.

It is Shirobako meets Oreimo with snarky YahariOre satire.
