I have a theory about Ymir. With Grisha's backstory we were revealed that Eldian citizens in Mare were turned into titans and sent to roam around Paradi island if they misbehaved.

Now what's natural to assume is that Ymir met the same fate as Grisha and the rest of the rebels did, that she was turned into a titan and was sent to roam around mindlessly for an indefinite amount of time.

But what strikes me as odd is Ymir's titan form. From all the titans that we've seen roaming just outside the walls, they look like misformed humans but they still look humanoid somehow, I haven't seen a single one of those titans with things like fangs, claws and/or the speed Ymir's titan has. And it's not like Ymir's form was affected by having eaten Marcel, she already had all of these characteristics as she roamed around mindlessly.

I'm pointing out all of this because Ymir's titan form shares a striking resemblance to the "devil" or "titan" depicted in the books telling the story of Ymir Fritz. So going by logic this must mean that the titan blood running through Ymir's veins is very different from the titan blood runing through the average Eldian's veins, considering all Eldians have the titan blood which is how Zeke is so easily capable of making titans out of citizens living inside the walls.

So Ymir herself is obviously a special case, this is either because a.) she's a descendant of the Ymir Fritz so her titan form shares a resemblance to the titan appearing in both books, but this is shot down by the very existence of the Reiss, who also have blood relation to Ymir Fritz, and whose titans don't possess pointy ears, fangs and/or claws. Or b.) Our Ymir is the original Ymir Fritz and she wandered around for 1820 years- Ymir says that she was "killed" for the happiness of a great many people. This could either mean that the Mare were happy with her dying, or that Ymir was killed so she could share her powers and that's why many people were happy.
