Araki was relatively progressive back in the day, having characters like Lisa Lisa being the strongest hamon-user (even though she sadly did nothing but job) and Yukako as a direct response to him disliking how girls in media were portrayed.

I don't think part 5 was meant to be interpreted as a bunch of sexist characters putting on a show for sexist readers, I think he just wanted to draw a lot of pretty men. And maybe he felt uncomfortable at the idea of established female characters being brutally killed too, he mentioned that it was one of the things he found confronting before he started Stone Ocean. But then he said in his authors notes he pretty quickly let that go, as can be seen by how much violence the girls in SO both dealt with and dished out.

Post SO, women have been treated a lot better on the whole, too. Lucy Steel and Hot Pants play huge parts, same with part 8 and its horde of ladies. Still hoping we get a rock-girl, though.

The irony is that Lisa Lisa being the strongest Hamon user but doing absolutely nothing in the story, let alone the final battle is actually one of the reasons why people wouldn't call her a "good female character". You could say Araki didn't write her well as a character or you could say that he just fell into a character archetype trap (the TvTropes term would be The Worf Effect, or, the really strong ally character that is built up only to lose quickly to the villain to show the audience how strong the villain is), but either way, she is by no means a good character.

However, I will say that Joseph was at least different in the sense that he won not by brute strength (i.e. becoming stronger than his adversaries) but rather by subversion and evasion.It's not the most common ways a protagonist is shown to win in a shonen so I'll give him that much.

What stand is this? It's with the main cast's stands on the clock points and has an aura and everything, but only shows up almost easter-egg like right before the intro ends, and not with the rest being shown off before the group pic.

What? I thought it was one of those stands that's main focus was manipulating luck, she changed Yukako's hand lines and changed 'fate' so that coincidences would lead Yukako and Koichi to meet, making her look more beautiful was the icing on the cake.

It was certainly wrong for Yukako to mess with fate like she did, but I don't think Koichi was being brainwashed, and if anything, him following Yukako to the shop and recognizing her by her personality even though she didn't have a face showed that Koichi did actually kind of come around to her personality.

As it is, that whole arc felt extremely rushed, but if it was given a bit more time I imagine what happened could have been fleshed out a little more to be less of an immediate "I LOVE YOU NOW" kind of scenario.

That can happen to non-brainwashed people too though. And again, the stands power was to control fate, not Koichi's emotions specifically. Yukako paid for the 'meet your love' package didn't she? And she did meet Koichi, but the fate was set up from there that he would leave after the time was up, I assumed he got the stomach cramp because he ate that ice cream, not because cinderella was actually hurting him or something. And then they were set up to meet a second time because Koichi accidentally took Yukako's bag.

So yeah, she was controlling the fate around them meeting again, as well as her own beauty, but that's pretty much it, and like I said, it was extremely rushed, it was a little creepy, but I think if it was fleshed out more the arc could definitely feel like a more natural progression.
