It's not believable or self insert-able either way. Either an MC is ugly/average looking and the attention they get makes no sense, or they're really good looking and we can't relate. Because Senpai is chill as fuck and geninuely likes the MC even before the weight loss. When she regains it back briefly after eating leftover valentine's chocolate, he is the only one who treats her kindly and doesn't try to force her indirectly to lose the weight.
