This, it's amazing how you can just feel the love and hard work and sweat that was put into this. It probably was, I mean that was the one performace they used for their main PV, not Victor's.
I suspect Victor's was based on rotoscopy (of course that's still means a lot of animation work since pure rotoscoped frames are useless and don't flow as well as Victor's animation did) while Yuri's was entirely hand drawn.

Yuuri really likes skating and you can see it during his performance. For him it's not just about the competition and winning medals. Being able to skate like that after being utterly crushed in a competition is not something everyone is capable of doing.
