All Out is generic in every way, from the characterization (a short guy playing a sport for big people? Real original), to the setting, to the tone, to the plot build up and structure. It's school kids playing a ball sport, it's fun for sure but we've seen it a million times.

Of course people are more keen on something less conventional like Yuri. They're adult professionals rather than highschool kids, it's about individual performances rather than team play, it looks like it may lend itself to more serious drama, the characterization and relationship dynamics have already thoroughly established their appeal, and the visuals/animation just bring it to the next level.
